Here's a video of former Mythbuster Adam Savage on the set of Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant, explaining to viewers of his Tested web-series how the construction techniques used today aren't that far removed from the ones that have been used since the earliest days of film. Check it out!
If you're a fan of the martial arts series Into the Badlands, you'll be happy to hear that AMC has renewed it for a 16-episode third season! If you're not watching the series, you really should be because it's freakin' awesome! On top of the fantastic martial arts fighting in the series, it also tells an intriguing story that's a lot of fun to follow. This is currently one of the highest-rated drama on cable.
Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios had this to say in a statement regarding the renewal:
"Into the Badlands looks like nothing else on television, a literal high-wire act attracting passionate and dedicated fans by the millions. Thanks to series creators and showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar, the terrific cast, led by Daniel Wu, the amazing martial arts team guided by the incomparable Master Dee Dee and fight directors Stephen Fung and Andy Cheng, and everyone else involved who brings this thrill ride to the fans."
Gough and Millar added:
"We are excited and grateful to continue our journey into the Badlands with Charlie, Joel, Susie and all of our friends at AMC. We also want to give a big clipper salute to our Irish and Chinese partners! The thought of doing an expanded 16-episode season is both thrilling and exhausting!!"
Season I only had 6-episodes and Season 2 was given ten, so the fact that Season 3 will have 16 is saying something. AMC is really excited about where this series is going and if AMC is excited then the fans should be excited as well!
AMC has renewed the martial arts drama Into the Badlands for an expanded 16-episode third season. The show is currently one of the highest-rated dramas on cable. Into the Badlands will return to AMC in 2018.
Into the Badlands is a genre-bending martial arts series very loosely based on the classic Chinese tale Journey to the West. In a land controlled by feudal barons, Into the Badlands tells the story of a great warrior and a young boy who embark on a journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment.
The series stars Wu (Tai Chi Zero), Marton Csokas (The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King), Aramis Knight (The Dark Knight Rises), Oliver Stark (Luther), Emily Beecham (28 Weeks Later), Orla Brady (Doctor Who, Fringe), Sarah Bolger (Once Upon a Time, The Tudors), Ally Ioannides (Parenthood) and Madeleine Mantock (Edge of Tomorrow).
Into the Badlands will return in 2018 and I can't wait to see where they take the story and these characters next!
M. Night Shyamalan has announced that his sequel to Unbreakable and Split will be called Glass and that it will be released on January 18, 2019. The filmmaker revealed the news on Twitter saying:
"Finished the new script. It’s taken 17 years but I can finally answer the #1 question I get, ‘Are you making a f#&@ing sequel to Unbreakable or what?’ My new film is the sequel to Unbreakable AND Split. It was always my dream to have both films collide in this third film."
Shyamalan went on to confirm that Bruce Willis will return as David Dunn, Samuel L. Jackson will be back as Elijah Price, James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb, Anya Taylor-Joy will return as Casey Cooke.
The story follows Dunn "pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men."
I've been waiting for an Unbreakable sequel for years and it was an amazing surprise to see that Split was in a way a continuation of that story. Now we are actually going to get this third film in the franchise, and I'm super excited! I can't wait to see what Shyamalan has in store for us!
I'm surprised that after Mad Max: Fury Road exploded at the box office and became a huge hit that the studio didn't push a sequel into production right away. It's not like director George Miller was prepared for it. Hell, he has two scripts ready to go for two new sequels when the studio decides that they want to make another one.
Miller has talked a lot about where he would like to take the sequel and how he would like to explore the character of Furiosa more, which is something that Charlize Theron is totally up for. When previously talking about Furiosa he said:
"Yeah, she’s a pretty compelling character so it would be great to tell her story. Her backstory is really interesting. We only allude to it in this movie because this movie is on the run; people don’t have much time for recreational talk. But you pick up, you have a sense of her having gone through stuff. That’s what the film is trying to do. You’re trying to put a lot of iceberg under the tip, I like saying. One of the things that’s really gratifying, people are reading the film more than just the surface — the events of the movie, and just picking up a lot of stuff underneath it, which is very deliberate......So in many ways, the audience is picking up a lot about Furiosa — or enough to intrigue. And she’s got an interesting story."
"We dug down deep into the subtext, the backstory of all the characters, and indeed the world…and without really thinking about it, we wrote two other screenplays just as part of the bible of the stories. Somewhere, if the planets align, there will be two other films.”
I just don't understand why Warner Bros. is jumping all over this. The fans would love to see another Mad Max film, especially after how incredible Fury Road turned out! It's great to hear that he's got the story he wants to tell ready to go if the studio ever does decide to pull the trigger.
Miller went on to reveal that the insane blind guitarist, Doof Warrior, will definitely return if a sequel is made. He teased:
“I know who his mother was. I know how it was that a man who is mute and blind survived the apocalypse. I know his story very well! If we get to make another movie, the Doof Warrior will be there!”
Miller seems so unsure that these sequels will happen. I'd be curious to know what the hold up is. I know that Miller said he wanted to focus on a smaller film for his next project, but it sounds to me like he really wants to make these Mad Max sequels, and he's just waiting for the studio to decide what they want to do.

Disney has released a new trailer for Cars 3 and if you're a fan of the Cars franchise I think you'll love it. Cars is my least favorite Pixar film franchise, I was never really a fan of the first two films, but this third one actually has an intriguing story that has perked my interest. This is a great trailer that impressed me.
Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!
Cars 3 also features the voices of Larry the Cable Guy as Mater, Bonnie Hunt as Sally Carrera, and Cheech Marin as Ramone, Armie Hammer as Jackson Storm, Cristela Alonzo as Cruz Ramirez, Kerry Washington, Nathan Fillion and Lea DeLaria.
The movie hits theaters on June 16th. Check out the trailer and tell us what you think!
Jurassic World 2 will have an epic underwater man vs. dinosaur battle scene. That's what we're learning via Comicbook as the found an interview with actor Kevin Layne who may have spilled the beans on a cool scene in the film.
"I read for two parts, and ended up getting the role of ‘submarine pilot’, which was the role I wanted as it is quite an epic scene. So I should have a nice cinematic moment on screen in a massive studio film. Filming starts in May hopefully I’ll be in one of their amazing contraptions, pretending that there’s dinosaurs around me. I’ve never worked with CGI before so it’s fun and challenging. But I can now say to people 'You know there’s no dinosaur there right?'"
I'm sure Layne's agent has already received a call for allowing this interview to hit the web. Let's hope it doesn't lose the poor guy the role! Either way, it's awesome that we're going to see some sort of crazy underwater battle! I wonder what will happen?
YES! If you read the title you already know what this article is about and there isn't much else to say other than, hooray!
It has recently been announced that The Predator, the new film in the franchise being directed by Shane Black, would be pushed back a bit to August 2018. While this was saddened some, Shane Black luckily brought good news as well in the form of a tweet.
I am standing on set next to a 7-foot tall gentleman in a Predator suit -- so no, it is not all CGI.— Shane Black (@BonafideBlack) April 23, 2017
This is all I needed to hear. Although many films rely on CGI, I'm always excited to hear a film wants to do it the old school practical way. Practical effects just give a film more of a sense of reality. Mad Max: Fury Road and the new Star Wars films are always lauded when using practical effects because it shows a desire to give weight and reality to something.
Even if there are special effects in the new Predator movie, it makes me feel at least a small bit relieved to know there is a real terrifying 7-foot-tall Predator on set. Sometimes its the little things that make the biggest difference.
Seven years after it hit theaters, David Fincher's The Social Network has received an Honest Trailer from ScreenJunkies. It's...well, it's exactly what you'd expect from an Honest Trailer about the movie, and since you clicked on this, I'm presuming that you're at least intrigued enough to watch it. So I'll just shut up and let you do that.
After Guardians of the Galaxy came out, people swept the film up and down to find every hidden Easter egg they could find. Things heated up in the Easter egg hunt even more after James Gunn said there was one hidden treat that no one has found yet. Although no one has found it yet, Gunn still stands by the fact that it exists, and he says that many have gotten close to finding this deeply secret easter egg. He's now confirmed that there are more Easter egg secrets that fans can look for in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2!
In an interview with The Independent, he was asked if there would be any undiscoverable Easter eggs in the sequel, to which he responded with a nod of the head and a simple "yes", but nothing else. When further questioned about the one in the first movie and if he planned on revealing it, he stated
"I am not going to, but people have gotten very close. So, I don't think it will be very long until it comes out."
Part of me wonders if it will be a crazy deep Marvel lore Easter egg, or one that is just very well hidden. In the interview he also stated that he would be involved in Infinity War, making sure his characters are taken care of and where they need to be at the end to set up Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He says:
"I’m not totally letting go of the Guardians, I’m still hanging onto them a little as they go through [Infinity War].
"I am with the guys, I’m talking to the Russo Brothers, I’m talking to the cast, I’m dealing with all sorts of stuff so we can have the characters remind try to themselves and they end up where they need to be for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3."
That's good to hear!
