Dwayne Johnson’s BLACK ADAM Film Will Be Written By The Writer of ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE ROAD CHIP

Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam film is taking a big step forward with the hiring of a screenwriter to write the script. According to The Tracking Board, Warner Bros. is going to hire Undatable creator Adam Sztykiel to write the script.

This is an interesting choice as he's also the same guy who wrote the films Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Raod Chip, Due Date, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul. These aren't really the greatest movies, but he must've had a solid story pitch that sold Johnson and the studio executives on hiring him.

There's still no director attached to the film project yet, but that will come in time. First things first... they want to get a script in place to help lure a director onto the project.

It's already been confirmed that Black Adam will not appear in Shazam! The first time we see Black Adam will most likely be in this solo film. I'm sure we'll eventually see Black Adam and Shazam! come face to face, though. I imagine that's what these DC films are leading up to!

It's going to be quite the spectacle to see Dwayne Johnson and Zachary Levi fight as these characters!

Jamie Lee Curtis Shares a New Promo Photo From The Upcoming HALLOWEEN Sequel

As I've been sitting here writing today watching all of the Halloween films, Jamie Lee Curtis shared a new promo photo for the upcoming Halloween sequel that put a gleeful smile on my face. I freakin' love the Halloween franchise and with everything that I've heard about the upcoming David Gordon Green and Danny McBride sequel, It's hard not to be excited about it.

The photo features Jamie Lee Curtis posing with Michael Meyers. It's the perfect Halloween day treat! The sequel is said to ignore every sequel in the franchise. Apparently, it's being treated as a direct sequel to the original John Carpenter film.

So far, the most exciting aspect of the film for me is that Curtis will be back as Laurie Strode. I'm really curious to see how they plan on continuing her character's story in this alternate storyline that's being developed. One thing we do know is that the story will involve a mother and daughter dynamic as Judy Greer has been cast as her daughter, Karen.

The Halloween sequel will be released in theaters on October 19, 2018. Happy Halloween everyone!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Set To Star In a Terrorism Thriller Called 7500

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is set to star in an upcoming terrorism plane thriller called 7500. According to Deadline, he is replacing Paul Dano, who was previously attached to the project.

The intense film will take place in the cockpit of an airplane that has been taken over by terrorists. The story will follow Tobias Ellis (Gordon-Levitt), who is a co-pilot during an airline hijacking at 30,000 feet.

I'm a big fan of Gordon-Levitt and his film work and this sounds like it will be a great project for him to be a part of. The actor was last seen in the film Snowden. He also has an upcoming comedy musical with Channing Tatum called Wingmen that he stars in and directs.

The movie is being directed by first-time feature film director Patrick Vollrath from a script that he wrote. Vollrath was nominated for an Oscar last year for a live-action short film he directed called Everything Will Be Okay

Let the Sweet Sound of Floppy Disk Drives playing the GHOSTBUSTERS Theme Set The Halloween Spirit

Call me old-fashioned but there is nothing like the soothing sound of a floppy disk drives grinding. Maybe that's why I find this latest composition by Paweł Zadrożniak on his Floppotron, a musical instrument built from 64 floppy disk drives. His latest work hits the Ghostbusters theme song out of the park. And does so just in time for Halloween.

Ray Parker Jr’s original theme is well suited by the ancient computer sounds seeing that Ghostbusters was born and thrived in the 80s.

So if "bustin' makes you feel good" you might want to consider adding this cover of the cinematic classic to your Halloween playlist. Watch the video below:

Nintendo Had No Clue They Made GameCube Controllers Work On The Switch

According to Nintendo, the recent update enabled the GameCube controller to be supported on Switch, claiming it to be a happy accident rather than intentional.

The latest 4.0.0 update gave the Wii U GameCube adapter a full controller support for the Switch, however, Nintendo of America’s president, Reggie Fils-Aime explained in an interview with Kotaku that:

“In our latest system software update, it enables third-party peripherals to work on Nintendo Switch. As a result, the peripheral for Wii U that allows it to attach GameCube controllers also works [...] I think it’s fair to say [...] that that peripheral working was as much a surprise to us as it was to consumers.”

This “accident” as Nintendo claimed, led some people to believe that a GameCube virtual console is finally coming for the Switch, and when Fils-Aime was asked, he simply said that:

“Of course, there’s nothing to announce on this, I think it’s fair to say, Stephen, that that peripheral working was as much a surprise to us as it was to consumers.”

This is a bummer for those who thought that Nintendo is giving a clue that a GameCube Virtual Console is in the works, and although nothing is set in stone, let’s not keep our expectations high for now.

Netflix Suspends Production on HOUSE OF CARDS Season 6 Indefinitely

Yesterday it was announced that Netflix would cancel House of Cards after Season 6. The news came after Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp shared an experience of how Kevin Spacey made sexual advances toward him when he was only 14-years-old.

Kevin Spacey ended up released a statement offering an apology and also used the opportunity to come out as being gay, which he got a lot of backlash over.

Well, Netflix has taken things a step further. According to Deadline, the streaming service has shut down production of House of Cards Season 6 indefinitely, so right now even the fate of Season 6 hangs in the balance. This is the statement that was released:

"MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on House of Cards season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew."

They went on to say that they are "deeply troubled" by the news concerning Kevin Spacey. If they are taking things this far, it makes me wonder if new information has come to light that we don't know about. Shutting down an entire production is a big deal because jobs are at stake.

The sixth season of House of Cards had been expected to consist of 13 episodes and debut in mid-2018 on Netflix. As of right now, It's unclear yet how the stop of production would impact the future of the season.

This is in no way affecting the spinoff series that is currently in development that was reported earlier today. Those series will not involve Kevin Spacey.

Kevin Smith Is Back Directing SUPERGIRL In Next Week’s Episode!

Hollywood's resident geek director Kevin Smith is back for another go at Supergirl. Coming Soon reports the episode the director stepped in for will air next week, and the trailer for the episode looks to be the classic Smith style. Take a look:

Smith always does a good job of making the shows feel like a comic book story, if that makes sense. It's hard to explain really, but I always get a distinct vibe when he's directing an episode set within the Arrow-verse, so I'm excited to see him do yet another Supergirl episode. Are you excited to see Smith back and working on the show, or do you want to see him somewhere else?

Watch This Fantastic POKEMON and EVIL DEAD Fan-Made Mashup Trailer

Ash Vs. Evil Pokemon in this great fan-made trailer from Funny or Die that mashes together Pokemon with The Evil Dead. Here's the description that came with the video:

When the global outbreak of Pokemon reaches apocalyptic proportions, there is only one man the world can rely on to catch 'em all. And this time Ash Ketchum (Blake Jenner) is playing for keeps.

Earlier today we posted the first teaser trailer for Ash Vs. Evil Dead Season 3 and since it's Halloween, I thought this would make a fun follow-up post, so enjoy!

The Newest Trailer For THE LAST OF US 2 Will Make Your Stomach Turn

The latest trailer for The Last Of Us 2 is not for those with weak stomachs as it shows tons of violence. If you're uncomfortable with seeing people get hanged, a young girl's arm getting decimated with a hammer, a woman getting a hatchet through the skull...I would sit this one out because you don't know any of these characters anyway.

Yep, No Ellie or Joel here, just three new characters and a bunch of twisted humans. As for who these people are and what role they have in the game's sequel, we have no idea, but we do have some clues. Apparently, that woman getting hanged is "one of them," according to the two Asian teens. "Them" appears to be some radicalized humans who will likely be another obstacle for our heroes to face in addition to the already loathsome clickers.

As for fan response to the trailer, some outlets have criticized Naughty Dog for showing such a brutally violent trailer with no explanation, familiar characters, or really any context at all. It definitely made me squirm at points (especially when the girl continues to hang after the danger passes), and I think it would've been worth it had we actually learned something after being subjected to all of it.

Instead, we just saw some gross violence for four minutes and then got a logo of the game. I'm sure we'll learn more about these characters as we get closer to release, but damn, out of all the footage to introduce them we had to see all that?! Was that hard to watch for anyone else?

Haley Joel Osment Set to Guest Star in THE X-FILES Season 11

Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense) is set to guest star in the upcoming eleventh season of The X-Files. According to Deadline, Osment will heavily be featured in the episode that will focus on Skinner (Mitch Pileggi), which was previously teased at NYCC.

When talking about that episode Pileggi said:

“You’re going to find out a lot more about his past. Fans will find out who he is, where he comes from and why he is the way he is.”

This story will be told during the sixth episode of the season and Pileggi went on to say that it will show us that Skinner is much more than just a cranky guy “who sits in the office bitching at Scully and Mulder. Ultimately, he is their champion.”

There's no word exactly on how Osment will be playing, but it will be fun to see him in the series. Osment most recently appeared on the GBO comedy Silicon Valley, and will next be seen in the sci-fi comedy on Hulu, Futur Man.

The 10-episode eleventh season of The X-Files will premiere in January on Fox. To watch the trailer for the upcoming season, click here.
