Destroyer follows the moral journey of LAPD detective Erin Bell, who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.

Whitford recently starred in Jordan Peele’s Get Out and just finished filming on Godzilla: King of Monsters for Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros.

Kebbell was most recently seen reprising his role as Koba in War for the Planet of the Apes for Fox and played King Kong in Kong: Skull Island for Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros.

The script is written by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi and begins shooting in Los Angeles next week.

New Photo of Snoke From THE LAST JEDI and Andy Serkis Confirms He’s Not a Sith Lord

Thanks to Lucasfilm we have a new image from Star Wars: The Force Awakens to share with you today and it features a close-up look at Supreme Leader Snoke. There's been a lot of speculation and talk among fans over who or what Snoke really is.

Thanks to Andy Serkis, there's one theory you can scratch off your list and that is the fact that Snoke is not a Sith Lord. We know that he is strong in the ways of The Force, but that doesn't mean he's a Sith Lord.

When talking about the character in an interview with Empire, he said that Snoke is a much darker character than Palpatine:

"Snoke is bloody dark; way darker than Palpatine. He’s riddled with this osteoporosis so his body's twisted, like a corkscrew. He's incredibly damaged, so there's a bizarre vulnerability about him. Beneath that vulnerability, though, is this intense hatred.

He then goes on to confirm that Snoke is not a Sith:

"He’s definitely not a Sith, but he’s certainly at the darker end of the Force. Without giving too much away, that begins to unfold a little in this one."

If he's not a Sith, what is he? Could he be an ex-Jedi or something completely different? Sound off in the comments below!

BLADE RUNNER 2049 Director Denis Villeneuve Expresses Interest in Helming a STAR WARS Film

Denis Villeneuve has emerged as one of the most talented filmmakers working in Hollywood right now. On top of his most recent film, Blade Runner 2049, he's also directed Sicario, Arrival, and the upcoming Dune movie. But what would you think about seeing the filmmaker take on a Star Wars movie?

While appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the filmmaker actually expressed interest in jumping on board a Star Wars film, saying:

"It’s something that, again it’s like, I would be intrigued. I don’t know, it’s very difficult. What is dangerous with Star Wars right now is it’s become its own vocabulary. I would love to see them, I think Rogue One was a very interesting attempt to get out of the mold.
"I think it would be a great idea to get out of there and to go on a new part of the galaxy, that I would be open to.

I think it's great that he's interested in exploring something some kind of standalone Star Wars film outside of the classic saga. That's definitely something that Lucasfilm is currently focused on doing. Solo: A Star Wars Story is the second film outside of the Skywalker saga that will be released and they've got more in the pipeline like the Obi-Wan Kenobi film. Then with Rian Johnson developing a new trilogy that takes place in another corner of the galaxy, that's just going to open up more of the world creating more new story possibilities!

If Villeneuve is open to directing a Star Wars movie, it would be silly for Lucasfilm not to reach out to him and ask him to come aboard and see what he has in mind. I would love to see him write and direct a Star Wars movie! What do you think?

Universal Pictures Asked Guillermo Del Toro To Develop Their Monster Universe and He Regrets Saying No

Universal Pictures' big plan to develop a big monster cinematic universe called Dark Universe backfired on them when Tom Cruise's The Mummy bombed. Since that happened, the future of the rest of the films including Wolfman, Bride of Frankenstein, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde have been uncertain.

Well, it turns out that things didn't need to be this way. Back in 2007, the studio approached Guillermo del Toro to lead the charge with their bringing their classic monsters back to the big screen and he ended up passing on the opportunity!?

Why in the hell would he pass on that! That's his jam! We've all been wanting to see him make his Frankenstein film and he had his chance and for some reason he turned it down! I don't even know what to say because Del Toro would have honored these classic monsters in a way that would have made fans happy. He originally wanted to pay homage to the genre of the classic films of old Hollywood.

Of course, Del Toro regrets his decision and during an interview with The New York Times, he repents of his sin:

The only time I repent I didn’t do something was in 2007, when Universal in an incredibly gentle and beautiful manner said do you want to take over the Monster Universe? And they gave me the reins of several properties, and I didn’t do it. That I repent. So this is a confessional moment, I repent. That’s the only thing.

It's a shame that we'll never know what would have come out of this collaboration, but we know that Del Toro will continue to make his own original film projects like his upcoming film, The Shape of Water, and there's nothing wrong with that. He continues to pay homage to these classic horror movies, with his original film projects.

HBO is Not “Actively” Working On Controversial CONFEDERATE Series

Earlier this fall HBO faced a PR nightmare when they announced that the cable network was working with Game Of Thrones duo David Benioff and D.B. Weiss on a new series called Confederate.

Similar to the premise of Amazon's Man in White Castle, the series takes place in a world where the outcome of the Civil War was much different. The idea drew plenty of criticism, taking place in an alternate Civil War timeline, where the southern states have successfully seceded from the Union, giving rise to a nation in which slavery remains legal and has evolved into a modern institution. It's clear that the show would have be controversial, and it didn't help that the announcement was in such a hostile cultural climate.

Now it seems things have really slowed down. The Washington Post reports “the show is still in development, [but] the creators are not actively working on it.” One factor could be that Benioff and Weiss are focused on the final season of Game Of Thrones, or they are trying to figure out exactly what they are trying to do with their premise.

It is nothing new that often times shows go into development, but few come out landing a series order, and even fewer become gigantic hits like Game Of Thrones. So we’ll see what ends up happening with Confederate, but it's clear that HBO doesn't want to put this show in the spotlight anytime soon.

Listen To Sun Tzu’s THE ART OF WAR With Music From The Wu-Tang Clan In The Background

Have you ever wanted to read Sun Tzu's The Art Of War, but had trouble getting through the first few pages? If you're a fan of the Wu-Tang Clan, that won't be an issue any longer. Someone mashed up a bunch of the rap group's instrumentals with an audiobook, and it's absolutely glorious. I'm already nine minutes in and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon! I'm not sure I'll make it the full two hours, but I'm definitely going a lot further than I have in the past! See how far you can make it and post below.

Daisy Ridley Says She’s Done Playing Rey After STAR WARS: EPISODE IX

For those of you who are wondering if we will see the story of Rey continue past Star Wars: Episode IX, it doesn't sound like it! During an interview with Rolling Stone, Daisy Ridley came out and said that she does not want to play Rey after director J.J. Abrams' Episode IX. Here's how the conversation went down when she was asked about it:

"No," she says flatly. "For me, I didn’t really know what I was signing on to. I hadn’t read the script, but from what I could tell, it was really nice people involved, so I was just like, ‘Awesome.’ Now I think I am even luckier than I knew then, to be part of something that feels so like coming home now."

But, um, doesn’t that sort of sound like a yes? "No," she says again, smiling a little. "No, no, no. I am really, really excited to do the third thing and round it out, because ultimately, what I was signing on to was three films. So in my head, it’s three films. I think it will feel like the right time to round it out."

Does this mean the Skywalker saga will end with Rey if she doesn't come back for more? Not necessarily. Who knows what kinds of twists and turns are in store for us as the story for this new trilogy continues to unfold! Plus, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said that there's a possibility that more saga movies could get made after Episode IX. She previously said:

"I certainly foresee movies past nine. Whether or not we carry on the Skywalker saga... you know, George always intended nine movies, and whether we continue that or not is something we're talking about right now. If the story warrants it, we'll absolutely do it. If it actually inspires new ideas, then we'll probably head in that direction. We just don't know yet."

But, seven months have passed since she gave this interview and maybe now they know what they are looking to do. Maybe the Skywalker saga will come to an end. J.J. Abrams told Rolling Stone that he felt that Episode IX was the end of the Skywalker saga that has driven the nine-film story. “I do see it that way,” he says. “But the future is in flux.”

With his last comment about the future being in flux, it sounds like they still aren't exactly sure what they are going to do. I'm sure they can close it out at Episode IX if they want to, but leave it open enough to go back and tell more of the story if they feel the need at some point in the future.

The Last Jedi opens December 15. Episode IX starts shoot next year, with a release date of December 20, 2019.

67 Screenshots From The AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Trailer and a New Synopsis Teases The Deadliest Showdown of all Time!

I don't know about you, but I have been rewatching the trailer for Avengers: Infinity War over and over again every chance I get. It's just so damn exciting, and it's filled with so much crazy footage for fans to comb through! So, I went ahead and took a bunch of screenshots from the trailer for you to plow through to try and find any cool little details and Easter eggs.

One of the biggest things that I noticed is that it seems to confirm the popular Soul Stone fan theory. As you noticed in the trailer, Black Panther and Wakanda was heavily featured. We even see that there's a major battle that takes place on Wakanda as Thanos and his Black Order forces attack. So why is Wakanda such a major set piece? That's gotta be where the Soul Stone is!

It's was previously theorized that the Soul Stone is where Black Panther and the Wakandans draw their spiritual strength from. There's a good chance that the meteor that crashed into the country long ago that also brought the metal Vibranium with it also housed the Soul Stone, but we'll just have to wait and see!

We also have a new synopsis that teases the deadliest showdown of all time!

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

Avengers: Infinity War is set to be released on May 4th, 2018! Below you'll find a bunch of screenshots!

Disney Has Cast Chinese Actress Liu Yifei as The Star of MULAN

Disney went out on a year-long worldwide hunt for the perfect actress to take on the lead role in their live-action adaptation of Mulan... and they found her! Chinese actress Liu Yifei, also known as Crystal Liu, will take on the lead role in the movie.

Disney and the creative team traveled to five continents and auditioned nearly 1,000 candidates for the role. They were looking for someone with "credible martial arts skills, the ability to speak English and the most ineffable requirement of all: star quality." Variety goes on to explain why Liu was ultimately cast in the film saying:

In Liu, Disney found the complete package. Nicknamed "Fairy Sister" by the Chinese public for her pure and innocent looks and image, she has been one of the country's most popular actresses of the current generation since breaking out with a series of hit television dramas in the mid-2000s, while she was still a teenager enrolled in the Beijing Film Academy. She is fluent in English, having lived in Queens, N.Y., for part of her childhood, and acted in English in both 2008's The Forbidden Kingdom, alongside Jackie Chan and Jet Li, and 2014's Outcast, opposite Nicolas Cage and Hayden Christensen. She also starred opposite Emile Hirsch in Danish auteur Bille August's period romance The Chinese Widow, which opened the Shanghai International Film Festival in June.
Liu, who has served as a brand ambassador for Dior, Tissot, Garnier and Pantene, most recently starred in the fantasy romance Once Upon a Time, which earned $82.3 million in China this summer. Her other credits include 2012's The Assassins, which earned Liu her first major acting award (at the Macau International Movie Festival), Never Gone and The Four trilogy.

Sounds like that got everything they were looking for and it's going to be cool to see her bring the character of Mulan to life on the big screen.

Mulan is being directed by Niki Caro (The Zookeeper’s Wife), and the film will be reelased sometime in 2019.
