Donald Glover performed at last night's Grammy's and while his album Awaken My Love didn't get the award for Album of the Year, he still crushed his performance rocking a full-on Lando stache! We can assume that's why he's rocking the facial hair anyway as Glover also is sporting a little beard on his chin he can quickly shave off if there has to be any reshoots. Check out his full performance below and tell us what you thought about it! It always blows my mind just how crazy talented this guy is!
I didn't see a lot of horror movies at Sundance this year. Usually, there are a few horror films that I see, but this year there was only one true horror movie that I saw... Hereditary. It was the last movie that I saw at the festival and holy shit! It was so good and the perfect film to end the festival on.
I'm a big fan of the horror genre and usually, there's always one great horror film to come out of Sundance and Hereditary was that film. It's more of a psychological horror thriller that messes with your head and it goes into some creepy-ass bone-chilling territory.
There's not a lot of in-your-face horror thrills in this movie. This is a slow burn horror movie where the suspense just builds and builds until it explodes at the end. A lot of the scary aspects of the film lurks in the shadows and through the sounds. There are also some incredibly frightening visuals and brutal themes that will make audiences gasp and ginge at.
I would liken the film to the classic horror thriller Rosemary's Baby. It has the same kind of vine and tone, only this one goes a little further and a lot darker. Here's some food for thought, imagine if the baby born at the end of Rosemary's Baby wasn't the right vessel for the devil. Hereditary kind of images what might happen if that was the case.
The story follows the Graham family whose lives start to fall apart after their reclusive grandmother dies. There is a lot of mystery behind their grandma's life and her presence casts a dark shadow over the family after she dies. I don't want to get into too many details because I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just tell you as much as the official synopsis for the film reveals.
The presence of their grandmother looms over her loner teenage granddaughter, Charlie, "whom she always had an unusual fascination with. As an overwhelming terror takes over their household, their peaceful existence is ripped apart, forcing their mother to explore a darker realm in order to escape the unfortunate fate they've inherited."
As the story unfolds, all kinds of nightmarish things begin to unfold and the mysteries surrounding the grandmother and what she was a part of begin to reveal themselves. Trust me... the story of this movie doesn't go in the direction you think it will go.
The movie was helmed by first time writer and director Ari Aster and I love the delirious dreadfulness that the movie offers. If you're a fan of horror films, you're definitly going to want to watch this one.
The movie also has a great cast that includes Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff, Ann Dowd, and actress Milly Shapiro, a young Broadway actress who gives a haunting performance.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is controversial, but I think most of us can agree there was at least one cool scene. Rey and Kylo Ren teaming up to fight Snoke’s Praetorian Guards. It was the coolest freaking scene in that film. Well, remember those Pennywise Dancing memes? Yeah, someone has done that to the coolest scene in The Last Jedi. The results are hilarious! You can find them all on @rachlikesbands' Twitter. My favorite is the “Toxic” by Britney Spears. Which is your favorite?

Last week we learned that the next film director Steven Spielberg is developing is a new features film adaptation of the classic musical West Side Story. This news left fans wondering when exactly he will get around to Indiana Jones 5. Well, according to THR, he plans on starting to shoot it in 2019 after he's done with West Side Story. That should give the director enough time to finish it in time for the previously set July 10, 2020 release date.
There's no information on what the story will entail, but we do know that Harrison Ford will be back to reprise his role of Indiana Jones. A couple of years ago I wrote up a list of archeological mysteries and discoveries that could spark Indian Jones' next adventure. I doubt the story will involve any of those, but I'm sure Spielberg will come up with a great idea for the story! I can't wait to see what that idea ends up being!
Are there any story ideas that you have for Indiana Jones' next adventure?
Adam Devine has a new movie coming to Netflix, and the first trailer for it is hilarious! Read the description for When We First Met, watch the trailer, and then continue on below:
Noah (Adam Devine) spends the perfect first night with Avery, the girl of his dreams, but gets relegated to the friend zone. He spends the next three years wondering what went wrong - until he gets the unexpected chance to travel back in time and alter that night - and his fate - over and over again. Will Noah ever get it right?
There's a lot of funny moments in this trailer, I just hope this film lives up to the hype! Check it out on Netflix when it arrives February 9.
A new website created to promote Annihilation is worth checking out if you're someone who wants to see the movie. All you have to do is copy the text from the tweet below and paste it to the page on For Those That Follow. Try it out and continue on below:
Once you've seen the footage you can create your own encrypted message for others to use to access the site, or just play with the "shimmer," by moving your mouse across the page. I had plenty of fun doing that latter and wasted wayyy too much time on this post being distracted by that.
Annihilation arrives in theaters February 23.
Hot off the success of foreign original shows like 3% and Dark, Netflix will debut its first Danish original series in the Spring. Check out the description for The Rain, and continue below for a teaser:
The world as we know it has ended. Six years after a brutal virus carried by the rain wiped out almost all humans in Scandinavia, two Danish siblings emerge from the safety of their bunker to find all remnants of civilisation gone. Soon they join a group of young survivors and together set out on a danger-filled quest through abandoned Scandinavia, searching for any sign of life.
Set free from their collective past and societal rules the group has the freedom to be who they want to be. In their struggle for survival, they discover that even in a post-apocalyptic world there’s still love, jealousy, coming of age, and many of the problems they thought they’d left behind with the disappearance of the world they once knew.
Who will you be when the rain comes?
The Rain premieres on Netflix this Spring. Do you think it looks interesting?
We’ve shared a few fan-made trailers for Avengers: Infinity War including this animated one, a retro one, and an anime one. Here’s another one for you. YouTuber SJPLAY has redone the Infinity War trailer using clips from Pixar films. Fix-It Felix Jr is Thor, Wreck-It Ralph is Hulk, and my favorite is Thanos being played by Lotso. This is a pretty fun one that includes the original trailer up in the corner if you want to compare the two. Which Pixar characters would you cast?
A few faces have recently been shown to appear in the upcoming SoulCalibur VI title from Bandai Namco. While a few of them are characters you knew from before, there is a brand new character known as Groh. The new character does look like a formidable foe and has quite the awesome, almost show-off like fighting style. Let's just hope his moves are more devastating than they are impressive to watch. There is also a twist to one of our familiar characters that is revealed at the end of the most recent trailer. Check it out:
I have to say that I wasn't surprised to see Nightmare make it in to the games roster. In fact, his character has one of my saltiest memories from a SoulCalibur IV tournament I was in a few years back. Easy to say, hes a noted yet unwelcome character in my book.
Who I was really excited to see, and again not shocked, was my favorite character-of-choice Kilik! Showing off some of his original move combinations and a couple new moves that I am looking forward to playing with on game launch. The end of the trailer showed off something really interesting though. Kilik's dark, more evil side is presented and he is even quoted saying "suffer my blood lust."
I don't know how well you know Kilik, but as a big fan of using his character I was always upset about his back story. This new light that has been shined on his character shows a possibility of what really happened back in his small village. Even though he was the one responsible for the death of everybody from his home village, perhaps it wasn't the Kilik we all knew and instead a more demonic, possibly possessed, Kilik. I mean, his back story never really matched up with his kind, noble, and powerful sense of justice demeanor. I'm hoping to see if they bring some news to light his questionable history in their sixth entry of the Soul Series.
Which one of the most recently shown off characters are you most excited about? Is there a character you are still waiting to see join the roster before SoulCalibur VI launches later this year?
Here's a great fan-made Marvel video that you've gotta watch that gives Thor: Ragnarok a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 style opening, and as you'll see, it works so well!
In the original scene, director Taika Waititi used Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song". In this version, that song is replaced by ELO's "Mr. Blue Sky" and it completely changes the tone of the scene and gives it more of a light-hearted amusing tone. It turned out great, though, and I think you'll get a kick out of it. Check it out!
