Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is going to be a ridiculously entertaining film. We've already seen a great teaser trailer, but I've seen a few additional clips from the film at various events that I've attended over the past year.
One of the funniest clips that I've seen involves all of the Disney Princesses coming together for a scene and that one scene is absolutely hilarious. Thanks to USA Today, we now have our first look at that scene featuring Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) standing in the middle of a big room, surrounded by all of the Disney Princesses.
What makes this so great is that Disney brought together most of the original voice actresses back for this one particular scene. Those voice actresses include Ming Na Wen (Mulan), Idina Menzel (Elsa Frozen), Kristen Bell (Anna Frozen) Jodi Benson (Ariel The Little Mermaid), Paige O’Hara (Belle Beauty and the Beast), Linda Larkin (Jasmine Aladdin), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana The Princess and the Frog), Mandy Moore (Rapunzel Tangled), Kelly MacDonald (Merida Brave), and Auli'i Cravalho (Moana).
We have a full description of the scene involving these characters that you can read here. I also included a couple other photos with John C. Reilly as Ralph, Taraji P. Henson as Yesss, and Alan Tudyk, who voices the know-it-all search engine KnowsMore.
KnowsMore has an Autofill function, so he ends up finishing people’s sentences, and that's something that gets on Ralph’s nerves. It's explained by director Phil Johnston that "Vanellope’s been in the Internet all of one minute and she immediately gets it. And Ralph takes it personally as an affront to him."
May has already had quite a bit of free content for a few games celebrating their anniversary, including Tekken and Friday the 13th. With the month nearing the end, another team has launched a bunch of free content for their player base to enjoy.
Behaviour Digital has announced that for the two year anniversary of Dead by Daylight, they have added a few things. The main addition is a new chapter named Curtain Call, which will introduce players to a new killer, The Clown, and a new survivor, Kate Denson. The new chapter will take place in Campbell's Chapel.
There is also a new in-game store, which is considered to be in a Public Test Build (PTB) state, to purchase cosmetic items as well as some of the game characters. The team even worked on an overhaul the economy to include two main changes:
Iridescent Shards will be gained with playtime through a new player level system.
Auric Cells will be available for purchase.
Despite the fact that they launched a road map back in March, there was talk among the Dead by Daylight fans that they were concerned that Behaviour Digital's latest game to go into closed Alpha, DeathGarden, was going to be the end of the game. I feel this update shows that they have no intention of letting that happen, but it's even better to hear it straight from the Dead by Daylight Game Director, Mathieu Côté.
“We can’t believe it’s already been two years. What’s even more incredible is that this was just the beginning. We are committed to making Dead by Daylight bigger and more fun (or terrifying) in the long run. In March, we introduced our new roadmap. We will continue developing new chapters, features and perks for as long as players demand it and will now introduce mid-chapter patches to ensure balancing and proper bug fixing.”
That's confirmation enough to say that Dead by Daylight won't be going anywhere until the player fan base decides they are ready to move on. With the new chapter and the in-game store now available, what are you looking forward to trying out most; The Clown, the store, or the new survivor?
With ABC cancelingRoseanne, there is a gap to fill in their fall schedule. Not long after it was announced that the show was canceled, TV writer and producer Bryan Fuller took to Twitter to push for a Pushing Daisies revival to fill that empty slot in the fall schedule!
The wonderful short-lived dramedy starred Lee Pace, Ana Friel and Kristin Chenoweth and it aired on ABC from 2007-09. The series centers on the life of Ned (Pace), a pie-maker gifted with the mysterious ability to reanimate the dead by touching them. The core of the story is love. Ned's childhood sweetheart ends up being murdered, and he uses his ability to bring her back to life, even though he could never, ever touch her. If he did, she would die again, for good.
I loved this show! It's definitely one of my favorites and the fact that Bryan Fuller, the creator of the show, would want to revive it is awesome! I know it's a long shot and it probably won't happen, but damn, it would be so cool to see the show make a comeback!
If you've never seen the show, you really need to watch it because it's something special. When previously talking about his love for the series, Fuller told Vanity Fair:
“It’s perhaps the purest expression of my creativity, as derivative as it is. It’s full of things that make me happy as an artist. So when anyone appreciates the show, they’re appreciating me.”
He also previously talked about reviving the series in some way, saying:
"I still would love to do Pushing Daisies as a Broadway musical. I’d love to see it return as a mini-series for Netflix, Apple, or Amazon, or whoever would pick it up. I ask Warner Bros. every year to see if they’d be open to it. There are some obstacles there as far as revitalizing it as a television show, but like I said, I’d love to see it as a Broadway musical."
Dave Bautista recently talked to Collider about the future of Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Before we dive into what he had to say about that, I'm going to throw up a spoiler warning, because we do get into some spoiler territory.
If you've already seen Avengers: Infinity War you know that at the end Drax was one of the many casualties of Thanos snapping his fingers with the Infinity Gauntlet. There are a lot of fans who believe that many of these characters will be back, we just don't know the details on how that will happen.
While talking about the film, Dave Bautista revealed that Drax will be back and that his return will come in Avengers 4.
"I got a lot of texts saying, 'I can't believe you're dead, your character is dead.' They were really like heartbroken and I was like 'I'm gonna be in four. I'm gonna be in Guardians 3.' I don't know how they're bringing me back, yeah but somehow I'm going to make it because, as far as I know, I am going to be in Guardians 3, so I have to be back."
So, it seems like Drax is a character that we don't have to worry about. It really isn't that surprising. We all know that there are characters who will return, but I believe that there will be real sacrifices made by the other heroes that survived Infinity War to bring these characters back.
It's also not surprising to learn that not even Bautista knows how he returns. Remember, the Russo Bros. gave all the actors fake scripts for Infinity War to keep certain secrets safe. I'm sure they did the same thing with Avengers 4.
We'll just have to wait until May 3rd, 2019 to see what happens!
Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill) is set to star in a new supernatural drama series being developed by Netflix called Chambers. The series is being produced by Oscar-winning writer Stephen Gaghan (Traffic, Syriana) and this is the synopsis that was released:
Chambers centers on a young heart attack survivor who becomes consumed by the mystery surrounding the heart that saved her life. However, the closer she gets to uncovering the truth about her donor’s sudden death, the more she starts taking on the characteristics of the deceased — some of which are troublingly sinister.
Thurman will play a character named Nancy, who is "the mother of the heart donor who forges a hesitant relationship with the young recipient only to find her daughter may not be as dead as she thought."
I think this could make for a solid series, especially with Uma Thurman on board to star in it. Chambers was created by Leah Rachel, who will write it and be the showrunner alongside Akela Cooper. It also landed a 10-episode straight-to-series order.
Claire Temple's days in the Marvel Netflix Universe may be numbered as Rosario Dawson is openly indicating she's looking to move on from the role sooner than later. Dawson spoke recently about the role at MCM Comic Con London (via The Mary Sue) and left nothing up to interpretation with her response:
“I don’t know if I’ll be back after this, to be honest, but it’s been an amazing few years. I’ve been on a lot of different shows. I mean, I don’t know if maybe they do a third season of Luke Cage potentially, or maybe if they figure out some kind of way for me to be on The Punisher—just so I can feel like I’ve done every show.”
The fact that Temple could potentially appear in The Punisher leads me to believe we're not going to see her character get a send-off in Luke Cage Season 2. That's a shame, because I'd rather see Claire Temple go out in a blaze of glory or on top as opposed to being that one person the team used to all know who just disappears without cause or reason.
Those thinking Dawson has some big role like Ahsoka Tano waiting for her upon her exit need to chill out, as Dawson said her reasons for wanting to leave are more personal than anything. Specifically, Dawson said she has a teenage daughter she'd like to spend more time with and keep tabs on as opposed to being on set 3000 miles away. I can't say that I blame her, that would be rough.
Will you miss Dawson in the Marvel Netflix shows provided this is the beginning of her leaving?
It is no secret that fans of Justice League and the cast have been wanting a reunion to happen. It appears we’ve gotten our wish, sort of. Instead of the revival that I’m sure many of us are still hoping for, the cast got together on the set of Talkin’ Toons. Two videos of the cast have been uploaded and they’re fantastic. The first is the cast lending their Justice League voices to read a bit of the script of The Lord of the Rings:The Fellowship of the Ring. It gives us all something we didn’t think we needed, Kevin Conroy saying “one does not simply walk into Mordor.”
The second video is fun because they all swap roles. Conroy reads some of Wonder Woman’s lines, Michael Rosenbaum reads Batman’s lines, etc. Phil LaMarr steals the show as he reads some of everyone’s lines and puts a little sass on at the end.
I've got an awesome trailer for you to watch today for a cool looking supernatural action thriller from Korea called Witch. The story centers on a teenage girl who, "after premature memory loss and a violent upbringing, finds herself in a situation where she must fight against dark and unknown assailants."
The movie was directed by Park Hoon-jung who previously directed the film New World and also wrote the twisted script for I Saw the Devil. This next film of his looks great! There are some great films that come out of South Korea. I love what I'm seeing in this first trailer for Witch and it definitely perked my interest.
The film stars Park Hee-soon, who previously worked with Hoon-jung on VIP, as well as Kim Da-mi and Choi Woo-sik (Okja, Train to Busan). There's no information on when we might see this film, but I'll be looking forward to watching it.
Director Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Kon-Tiki) has officially started production on Disney Maleficent 2. The announcement came with the first synopsis for the film along with a full cast list. I also included a couple photos from the set of the film! Here's the synopsis.
A fantasy adventure that picks up several years after “Maleficent,” in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora, “Maleficent II” continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen, as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.
As far as the casting goes, Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning will be back to reprise their roles as the dark fairy Maleficent and Princess Aurora, respectively. Michelle Pfeiffer joins them as Queen Ingrith. Also joining the production Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange, 12 Years a Slave), Ed Skrein (Deadpool, Game of Thrones) and Robert Lindsay (My Family, Wimbledon). Harris Dickinson (The Darkest Minds, Trust) will take on the role of Prince Phillip.
Additional cast members returning from the 2014 film include Sam Riley (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Control) as Diaval; Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter) as the pixie Knotgrass; Juno Temple as the pixie Thistlewit; and Lesley Manville as the pixie Flittle.
I wasn't the biggest fan of the first film, but I do like the director that is helming the sequel, so I hope it's good for his sake!
I love seeing moments that let me believe that celebrities are down to earth human beings. Chris Hemsworth, the god of thunder, recently shared a video to Instagram of one such moment. He was with his family and for whatever reason decided to dance along to “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus. It’s a nice moment and the fun is of course, interrupted by the dog. What’s your favorite celebrity dance moment?
