Stephen Colbert Made a Trailer for EPISODE IX with the Aim of Pissing Off Trolls

I am getting really bothered by the Star Wars “fan base.” I put fan base in quotes because I don’t think any real fans should be so vehemently hateful towards anyone in their fandom. Star Wars still has a great fan base who love the franchise and aren’t total jerks to others, but it’s that small portion of jerks that a lot of other fans bothered by. It’s this same group of jerks who bullied Kelly Marie Tran who played Rose Tico in The Last Jedi to the point where she left social media. Fans should never do that. it's totally ok to disagree with each other and debate the things that we like and don't like about the franchise, but bullying isn't the way to go. Stephen Colbert, who has been a Star Wars fan since about 2 weeks before A New Hope was released decided to create a trailer for the upcoming Episode IX especially for those bullies who dare call themselves fans.

We've got another new TV spot for you to watch that offers up a few bits of new footage from Marvel's Ant-Man and The Wasp, which includes Scott Lang bragging about being an Avenger now. I've also included three new posters for the film below. One of them is an IMAX poster, the other is a Dobly poster, and the third features Ant-Man and The Wasp. I also added a few new photos, one of which seems to show The Wasp in the Quantum Realm.

I just can't wait to see this movie already! It looks like it's going to be a blast!

Scott Lang is grappling with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father. Approached by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym, Lang must once again don the Ant-Man suit and fight alongside the Wasp. The urgent mission soon leads to secret revelations from the past as the dynamic duo finds itself in an epic battle against a powerful new enemy.

Peyton Reed returns to direct Ant-Man and the Wasp. The film stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, and will also introduce Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, Laurence Fishburne as Doctor Bill Foster, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, and Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch.

Stephen King’s New Book THE OUTSIDER is Already Set to Be Adapted Into a TV Series

Media Rights Capital wasted no time in snatching up the right to Stephen King's latest novel The Outsider. King's work is really hot right now and there are a ton of projects in development based on his stories.

MRC, who is also a part of The Dark Tower adaptation, is planning a 10-episode limited series adaptation, and they have hired Richard Price to write it. He is best known for his work on HBO's The Wire and The Night Of. With him on board, you know that this series has a solid chance of being great.

If you're not familiar with the story yet, here's the book description:

An unspeakable crime. A confounding investigation. At a time when the King brand has never been stronger, he has delivered one of his most unsettling and compulsively readable stories.

An eleven-year-old boy’s violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City’s most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

As the investigation expands and horrifying answers begin to emerge, King’s propulsive story kicks into high gear, generating strong tension and almost unbearable suspense. Terry Maitland seems like a nice guy, but is he wearing another face? When the answer comes, it will shock you as only Stephen King can.

I haven't read the book yet but it certainly sounds intriguing! I'm hoping to read it soon. This story definitely seems like it would work much better for a TV series than a movie, so I'm glad that they are going that route.

Have any of you read the book yet? If so what did you think?

Lea Thompson is Pitching a HOWARD THE DUCK Movie To Marvel Soon!

James Gunn managed to bring Howard the Duck back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the fans loved him for it. Even though the 80s film was a complete failure, fans still love Howard the Duck, and after he appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy, fans wanted to see more of him! A lot of fans were talking about how they wanted a new Howard the Duck movie.

Well, it looks like Marvel is actually going to entertain the idea! Lea Thompson, who starred in the original film revealed that she is going to pitch a Howard the Duck movie that she wants to direct. She tells the Inquisitr:

"Oh my god, from your lips to God's ears. I don't know. To tell you the actual truth, I am going to Marvel to pitch Howard the Duck, a new movie."

She then goes on to reveal that the meeting is set to take place in three weeks!

"In like three weeks. I want to direct the Howard the Duck remake [laughs]. Why not dream big, right?"

You know what? I hope that she has a great pitch meeting because it would be pretty rad to see Howard the Duck get a new movie that was actually properly done. It could be one of the greatest things ever!

If there was ever a chance of a Howard the Duck movie happening, this is it! If it doesn't happen with Thompson, it probably won't happen at all. This whole thing just seems inspired.

Would you want to see Lea Thompson helm a Howard the Duck movie for Marvel?

Paul Hogan, the star of the hit Crocodile Dundee films, is set to star in a new feature film comedy called The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee!. Now, before you get too excited, this isn't going to be a sequel to the classic 80s films, but it still sounds like it will be an entertaining movie!

According to Deadline, the film "sees Hogan playing himself and on the brink of receiving a Knighthood for services to comedy. ‘Don’t do anything to mess this up’, his manager tells him, according to the plot line. However, despite all his best efforts, the next six weeks sees his name and reputation destroyed."

I know a lot of fans were hoping to eventually see a sequel to Crocodile Dundee, especially after that fun Super Bowl spot, Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns home. But, it looks like we're getting the next best thing!

There's no word on any of the supporting cast members, Hogan said, "to watch this space as I’ve been honored to have many of my friends and colleagues, whose work I adore, agree to join us for this hilarious new adventure."

The film will be directed by Dean Murphy (Charlie & Boots) and it will be set in Los Angeles. The film starts production in July with shooting taking place in Australia, Los Angeles and Vancouver.

The First Trailer For James Wan’s AQUAMAN is Said To Be Coming in the Next Few Days

For those of you who are curious about James Wan's Aquaman film, it doesn't sound like you'll have to wait much longer for the first trailer. The trailer was recently screened at CineEurope and Variety points out that the trailer will be released for everyone to enjoy in the next few days.

I recently got to see a good amount of footage of the film at CinemaCon a couple months ago and it was impressive! It has the epic scope of The Lord of the Rings, but the whole thing is set underwater and it looked stunning.

I've never been a big fan of Aquaman, but the footage I saw from the film got me excited about this movie. You can read my breakdown of the footage I saw here. When talking about his take on Aquaman, Wan previously said:

“He doesn’t quite fit in, but as the story progresses, he realizes he’s the best of both worlds. Circumstances allow him to grow as a human being and then realize the bigger picture of it all and what it means to have these abilities."

Jason Momoa will be joined by Willem Dafoe as Vulko; Temuera Morrison (Green Lantern) as Tom Curry; Dolph Lundgren (The Expendables films) as Nereus; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (The Get Down) as Black Manta; Ludi Lin (Power Rangers) as Murk; with Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring films, Watchmen) as Orm/Ocean Master; and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna. Here's the synopsis:

Aquaman will center on Aquaman as a reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis who is caught between land dwellers that are always polluting the globe and his own people who are ready to invade the surface.

Aquaman is set to be released December 21, 2018.

RESIDENT EVIL 2 Remake Is Here! Welcome Back To Raccoon City

After an extended period of silence from Capcom, the much-awaited, highly-anticipated remake of Resident Evil 2 finally got a release date and a brand new trailer. The game was unveiled during today’s PlayStation E3 2018 conference, showing the massive overhaul of the iconic survival horror classic. The remake of Resident Evil 2 is set to release on January 25, 2019.

Besides the release date, fans have long been eager to know how Capcom is going to approach the remake. Especially the highly sensitive topic of camera angles where some fans prefer the classic tank controls of the original games. However, it seems that Resident Evil 2 Remake will feature a third-person, over the shoulder point of view as is standard in recent Resident Evil games except for RE7 that introduced a first-person point of view instead.

As expected, players will still be able to take control of series veterans Leok S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. However, since this is technically a remake of their debut, both characters sport a younger and more innocent look. Remember that this is the first time Leon and Claire will encounter zombies and BOWs in their lives. A nice throwback to a period when Resident Evil characters are just discovering the evil of Umbrella for the first time.

Moreover, the trailer showed a brief glimpse of Raccoon City, which will undoubtedly bring tears to any Resident Evil fan. The feeling of nostalgia is so strong knowing that we will explore the depths of the city once again. The preview also showed other Resident Evil 2 characters such as Marvin Branagh, Ada Wong, HUNK, and Mr. X. There were no signs of series original Jill Valentine and whether the remake will be a combination of Resident Evil 2 and 3 since both games took place in Raccoon City and practically overlapped with each other.

Don't forget to tune in tomorrow at PlayStation Live from E3 Event tomorrow June 12 at 4 PM PDT as Capcom will showcase a live gameplay demo of the game. Resident Evil 2 Remake will be released on January 25, 2018. Although no platforms have been announced yet, it is likely that the game will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

This New Trailer For LUKE CAGE Season 2 Puts the Focus on the Villains

"Harlem can only handle one devil at a time."

Netflix has unleashed a brand new trailer for Marvel's Luke Cage Season 2 and it's loaded with tons of new footage. The Trailer puts a major focus on the villains of the story and it gives us a better sense of what the new season is going to explore.

As you'll see, Bushmaster (Mustafa Shakir) has set his sights on Mariah's (Alfre Woodard) turf, which means Luke Cage (Mike Colter) is going to find himself caught in the middle of a violent gang war, and Cage is put in a situation where he knows that keeping Mariah alive is the right thing to do.

This isn't going to be easy for Cage, though, because Bushmaster is freakin' powerful! Cage has definitely met his match.

After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.

Rosario Dawson reprises her role as Claire Temple and the series also stars Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Theo Rossi as Shades, Finn Jones as Danny Rand, and Gabrielle Dennis (Insecure, Rosewood) as Tilda Johnson.

The 13-episode second season kicks off with an episode directed by Lucy Liu. The series premieres on Netflix on June 22nd. I included one more promo below along with photos of a cool Luke Cage billboard:

MTV is Rebooting AEON FLUX as a Live-Action Series

I'm sure many of you remember MTV's animated sci-fi series Aeon Flux from the 90s. It ran for three seasons then was eventually adapted into a live-action film in 2005 with Charlize Theron. I enjoyed the animated series; the movie... not so much.

Now MTV is developing a new live-action reboot of the animated series, which was originally created by animator Peter Chung, and Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis will be writing and executive producing it. Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd is also attached as an executive producer. She was a producer on the original film.

The live-action series is set in "a future dystopian state and revolves around a young assassin who teams with a group of biohacking rebels to save humanity as she becomes the hero known as Aeon Flux."

I don't watch a lot of shows on MTV, but as a fan of the original animated series, I am curious to see how this live-action reboot turns out.

Stunning and Brutal Gameplay Footage For Sony’s Samurai Game GHOST OF TSUSHIMA

Sony recently showed off the first gameplay footage for their new Samurai game Ghost of Tsushima. The game comes from Sucker Punch Productions, and this game seriously looks epically stunning! I'm super impressed by what I'm seeing here and this game is a must-have for any fan of the martial arts samurai genre.

The demo follows a  samurai warrior named Jin Sakai, as he rides through beautiful grasslands. He ends up infiltrating a village to rescue a monk from invading Mongols, only to be betrayed by a longtime friend. As you'll see, the combat is quick, calculated, bloody and brutal.

As far as the story goes, it's set in 1274 Japan and follows one of the last surviving samurai and his fight against Mongol invaders.

Sucker Punch producer Brian Fleming had this to say on the PlayStation Blog:

"We chose this particular sequence to capture a few of the essential visions we have for the game: a sprawling, beautiful Tsushima Island … brutal Mongol invaders … and katana combat that delivers on our target of 'Mud, Blood, & Steel.'"

Sucker Punch game director Nate Fox added:

"Seriously, how come no one has made a sprawling samurai open-world game yet? Feudal Japan is beautiful; from the swaying bamboo forests to the ornate castles, it’s a place that demands to be explored.
"I’ve been a fan of samurai comics since 5th grade, from ‘Lone Wolf and Cub’ to ‘Usagi Yojimbo. The types of characters, landscapes, betrayal, and sacrifice in those stories are a rich vein ready to be translated into a video game."

It looks like they've created something amazing and this game just shot up to the top of my list of must-have games! I have no idea when the game will be released, but it's coming exclusively to PlayStation 4.
