AMC Theaters Now Offering Its Own Movie Subscription Service

AMC has been a real stick in the mud regarding subscription services in the past year, and now the company has suddenly added their own movie subscription service exclusive to its own theaters. The program, AMC Stubs A-List, is actually a new tier to its current rewards program, and will allow audiences to see 3 films a week for $19.95 a month.

It's certainly not as cheap as Moviepass, but as Deadline reports, there are some other perks subscription members can enjoy. For example, subscribers can purchase tickets for upcoming films well in advance, and those free movies count for 3D, IMAX, 4D and any other format other than the basic cinematic experience. Audiences also get money back on their concession charges as well as free upgrades on popcorn and drinks.

To be honest, it sounds like a pretty sweet deal, and with Moviepass looking like it could fold on a week to week basis, this may be the future of subscription services. That said, the reason I subscribe to Moviepass is due to it being so cheap, and the closest AMC theater to me is about 9 miles further than the closest Regal Cinemas, so it's going to be a no from me. Do you see yourself purchasing this service? If so be ready to sign up for it when it becomes available June 26.

Lucasfilm May Be Putting The A STAR WARS STORY Films on Hold

It looks like it might be a while before we see any more A Star Wars Story films from Lucasfilm. According to Collider, "Lucasfilm has decided to put plans for more A Star Wars Story spinoff movies on hold."

As of right now, the plan is to focus their attention on Star Wars: Episode IX and the new trilogy of films that are being developed by Rian Johnson and Games of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

The report also says that the previously rumored Obi-Wan movie was in active development, "but those who were working on the film are no longer involved." I assume that means James Mangold's Boba Fett film is on hold as well.

This is all just a rumor at the moment, but after the box office disappointment of Solo: A Star Wars Story, maybe Disney and Lucasfilm are going to rethink their strategy. I'm personally not buying into this rumor, though. I'll be surprised if it turns out to be true. There's just so much going on at Lucasfilm and it's hard to think that they would scrap everything because of one great film that ended up being disappointing at the box office. But, we'll see.

I personally hope they aren't putting their spinoff films on hold. I've really enjoyed the two that they've made!

What do you think about this news? Do you think that they should put the films on hold? At this point, it seems like a lot of fans would rather see the saga films put on hold.

IT: CAPTER 2 Has Started Production and James McAvoy Shares a Photo with a Derry Related Pun

Director Andy Muschietti has officially started production on the highly anticipated film IT: Chapter 2James McAvoy shared a photo having fun with a little Derry related pun which you can see below.

The movie is shooting in Toronto and the sequel has a great cast that includes James McAvoy as Bill, Jessica Chastain as Beverly, Bill Hader as Richie, Jay Ryan (Beauty and the Beast) as Ben, James Ransone (Generation Kill) as Eddie, with Andy Bean (Here and Now) as Stanely Uris, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, and then there's creepy Bill Skarsgård as the Pennywise the Clown.

The original young cast will also return for the sequel for some flashback scenes. They include Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer and Nicholas Hamilton.

The sequel is set 27 years after the Losers Club defeated Pennywise The Clown when they were kids. As they've grown up, they've forgotten about what had happened. When bad things start to happen in Derry again and kids begin to go missing, Mike Hanlon, who stayed behind in Derry to keep watch over the town, calls up his old friends and reminds them of the promise they made to come back and stop it if it ever came back.

The movie is set to be released on September 6th, 2019. I loved the first film and I can't wait for this sequel. I'm curious to see how Muschietti handles it. He has said in the past that it will be even scarier and more intense than the first one, so that's something to look forward to!

Day 1 on IT 2. Glad you got the memo guys. #passthecheeseplease #derryordairy

A post shared by James Mcavoy (@jamesmcavoyrealdeal) on

It has previously been revealed that Chapter 2 will include more of the interdimensional turtle, which was teased in the first film a few times. It will also have a much darker tone to it, and it has been said that Mike Hanlon's character will be drastically changed, as he will be a junkie. You can read more about that here.

The sequel will also most likely explore Pennywise the Clown a little more. We've heard that the sequel may include elements from Pennywise's history in Derry such as the story behind The Black Spot and there was a deleted scene from the first film that was revealed that included Pennywise eating a baby. That could be included in the sequel as well if they really do plan on giving us a history of the monster. Then Bill Skarsgard hopes that it will explore the twisted mind of Pennywise.

Marvel May Be Close To Hiring a Director For BLACK WIDOW and Her Name is Cate Shortland

Marvel is moving forward with their Black Widow solo film as they are looking to hire a female director to take it on. The studio is deep in the process, but according to Deadline, they are close to making a decision. Right now the favorite seems to be an Austrailian filmmaker named Cate Shortland. She is recently credited with directing Lore and Berlin Syndrome. I never saw Lore, but Berlin Syndrome was a solid movie.

It was previously reported that Marvel had met with over 65 different directors! Three names were previously mentioned which included Deniz Gamze Erguven (the Turkish movie Mustang), Chloe Zhao (The Rider), and Amma Asante (A United Kingdom).

As for what story the film will tell, nothing has been confirmed, but it was recently reported that the movie might be a prequel story and it would involve Black Widow and The Winter Soldier.

"The film will find Natasha living in the United States 15 years after the fall of the Soviet Union! That timeline places the film firmly in the mid-2000s, meaning we'll meet up with Nat prior to the events of Iron Man 2. That time frame opens up plenty of options, and while many fans seem to want a Black Widow/Hawkeye team up in Budapest, we've been told that early discussions about the film involved Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier."

That's just a rumor, but it would be an interesting story to tell. This would certainly be Shortland's biggest film to date. If Marvel thinks that she will be able to take on the challenge of directing this movie, then I'm sure it will be good!

Samuel L. Jackson Says That Nick Fury and Black Panther Will Eventually Meet in the MCU

The next time we see Samuel L. Jackson in the role of Nick Fury will be in Captain Marvel when he will be playing a young 90s version of the character. Regardless of what happened to him in Avengers: Infinity War, there's a good chance that he'll be back along with Black Panther, and when they do come back, Jackson says that there's going to be a time where the characters finally meet.

While talking to Entertainment Tonight, Jackson explained that he went to Marvel Studios and suggested to them that Fury should make an appearance in Black Panther. He recalls:

"It was just like, 'Ehh, nah. We're good. Nick Fury and Black Panther will meet somewhere. But not there.'"

So, we have no idea when or where the two characters will meet, but it's something that Marvel is looking to do somewhere down the road. I imagine it will be one of the future Avengers films that Marvel is said to be looking to do at some point after Avengers 4.

Even though Jackson was promised Fury and Black Panther would eventually cross paths, he still wishes that he would have been able to be in Black Panther. When asked why his character didn't show up in the film, he said:

"I can't answer that! I'm wondering. He should've been there. He should have been somewhere -- maybe in that casino in Korea when all of that stuff jumped off."

Jackson goes on to say that just because he and Black Panther haven't crossed paths yet, it doesn't mean that Fury doesn't know about him:

"Just so you could say, 'Oh, Nick Fury is out in the world looking for whatever the evil in the world is.' He's just there and is kind of like, 'Oh, yeah, that's that Black Panther dude.' 'Cause there's no way in the world he doesn't know where Wakanda is or what vibranium is or any of that, because he's Nick Fury."

Where would you like to see these two Marvel characters meet up for the first time?

PUBG Is Currently On Sale On Steam Right Now As Celebration For 400 Million Players

For the first time ever, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently on sale on Steam. Players have until July 5 to avail the game at $20, which is 33% off from the regular price of $30. PUBG Corp. mentioned in a press release that, “We’re going to keep working on new content and improvements for all versions of the game. We know there’s still so much we can do to make PUBG a better game for our players.”

Watch Josh Brolin Read President Trump’s Tweets as Thanos

Whether you're a supporter of President Trump or a hater, you can't deny that listening to Josh Brolin read Trump's tweets as Thanos isn't pretty damn funny.

The actor showed up on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert recently and that's where Colbert asked Brolin to read some of the president's more obnoxious tweets as the villainous Marvel character. You can check out the video below thanks to THR. The Thanos bit starts at the 7:22 mark.

First Look at Linda Hamilton Back as Sarah Connor in New TERMINATOR Movie!

Here it is! Our first look at Linda Hamilton looking like a complete badass as Sarah Connor in the new Terminator film has arrived! The film is coming from Director Tim Miller (Deadpool) and producer James Cameron.  I was so happy to hear that Hamilton would be coming back to the franchise and after seeing these new images of her, I can't wait to see her in action again!

We got our first look at Mackenzie Davis earlier today in some set photos and a lot of people seems to think that she will be the new Terminator.

We still don't know much about the story, but this first film is said to be the launch of a trilogy and a direct sequel to Terminator 2. It will ignore all of the other films that have been made since, and Cameron previously said:

"We still fold time. We will have characters from the future and the present. There will be mostly new characters, but we’ll have Arnold and Linda’s characters to anchor it."

Davis' character is said to be the new face of the franchise.

David Goyer (Batman Begins) worked on the script with Cameron and Miller and the movie will be released on November 22, 2019. The movie also stars Gabriel Luna (Agents of SHIELD), Natalia Reyes (Lady, La Vendedora de Rosas) and Diego Boneto (Scream Queens).

Enjoy The Entertaining Final Trailer For ANT-MAN AND THE WASP

Marvel has released the final trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp and it's got a good amount of entertaining new footage for your viewing enjoyment. I know this movie isn't going to make Avengers: Infinity War kind of money, but I loved the first Ant-Man movie and this one looks like it's going to be even better. Plus, it's going to explore the Quantum Realm and what Marvel fan isn't interested in seeing that!? The new trailer also teases one of Luis' comedic stories. I also included a new poster for the film below.

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: “Ant-Man and The Wasp.” In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.

The mission will focus on Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne going into the quantum realm to save Janet Van Dyne, which is what I'm most excited about seeing.

Peyton Reed is directing Ant-Man and the Wasp and it stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michael Pena as Luis, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, T.I. as Dave, Randall Park as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Jimmy Woo, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, and Hannah John-Kamen as The Ghost.

Ant-Man and The Wasp will be released in theaters on July 6th, 2018.

Amazing Trailer For Robert Zemeckis’ New Film WELCOME TO MARWEN with Steve Carrell

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for their upcoming film Welcome To Marwen, which comes from director Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future). The film stars Steve Carrell and it looks like an absolutely wonderful and inspiring movie. I loved this first trailer and this is certainly going to be a unique and surreal film that is told in a very fun way.

Steve Carell plays Mark Hogancamp, a man who is attacked by a group of Nazis, leaving him with severe memory loss and some serious post-traumatic stress. As a way to cope with what he is going through, he builds a model town called Marwen that is filled with custom-made G.I. Joe like action figures. He lives out a fantasy life with these figures that come to life in his imagination and they help him face and deal with the struggles that he's going through. I love the visual style of this whole thing. It's a bit odd, but it totally works.

The movie is based on a documentary called Marwencol that tells the true story of Mark Hogancamp, who suffered severe head trauma after being beaten outside of a bar by a group of teenagers. He was in a nine day coma, and when he woke up he had no memory of his life, his friends or his family.

Here's the synopsis for the film:

Welcome to Marwen tells the miraculous true story of one broken man’s fight as he discovers how artistic imagination can restore the human spirit.
When a devastating attack shatters Mark Hogancamp (Carell) and wipes away all memories, no one expected recovery. Putting together pieces from his old and new life, Mark meticulously creates a wondrous town where he can heal and be heroic. As he builds an astonishing art installation—a testament to the most powerful women he knows—through his fantasy world, he draws strength to triumph in the real one.
In a bold, wondrous and timely film from this revolutionary pioneer of contemporary cinema, Welcome to Marwen shows that when your only weapon is your imagination… you’ll find courage in the most unexpected place.

The film has a great ensemble cast that includes Leslie Mann, Eiza González, Janelle Monáe, Gwendoline Christie, Diane Kruger and Merritt WeaverWelcome to Marwen arrives this fall on November 21, 2018. In also included the original documentary for you to watch as well.
