Dwayne Johnson Teases DC Cameos in BLACK ADAM and Shooting Will Start in 2019

Dwayne Johnson recently sat down with FilmStarts for an interview and it's was there he revealed that Black Adam could start shooting in early 2019. He also teased that some DC characters will appear in the film. When talking about when the film would start shooting, he said:

"With Black Adam I don’t think we’re going to start early next year. Early next year right now it looks like I’m going to be shooting Jumanji, and then after that if everything goes well I’ll shoot a movie called Red Notice with Rawson Thurber again, with Gal Gadot, and another actor yet to be named. But Black Adam possibly at the end of next year. It’s coming along great, the script is coming along great we’re very happy with it."

Johnson went on to tease that some other DC heroes may show up:

"Without giving anything away, there MIGHT be maybe a cameo or two of some of the other DC superheroes. We’ll see. That’s been the beauty of Black Adam as we’ve been developing it is that we could make a movie that just stood on its own too as well, but that’s also the beauty of those universes coming together at DC."

He doesn't say who will show up, but Shazam! and Superman seem like obvious choices. Who knows, though, if there are any cameos they could turn out to be a complete surprise. Black Adam was originally supposed to be a part of Shazam! but they ended up separating the projects. One day, I'm sure we'll see the two face off with each other, though.

The script for the film was written by Adam Sztykiel, who wrote Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, Due Date, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul. According to Johnson, the script is great and they're all excited about it. I hope the film turns out good! Johnson has been attached to play the character for nearly ten years! After all those years of being committed to a project, it better be good for his sake!

There's still no director attached to the film yet, but is there anyone you would like to see come on board to take it on?

First Trailer For Indian Netflix Horror Series GHOUL Looks Promising

The first trailer for Netflix's original Indian horror series Ghoul has arrived, and it looks promising! I have a feeling this is going to be one of those shows that has Netflix viewers talking about for awhile! Of course, that all hinges on the fact people don't think it's too scary and decide not to watch.

From the makers of Insidious, Get Out and Udta Punjab - Ghoul is a chilling series about a prisoner who arrives at a remote military interrogation centre and turns the tables on his interrogators, exposing their most shameful secrets. You can fight the demons of this world but what about the ones that aren't?

Check out the trailer, let us know what you think, and be sure to binge this one starting August 24!

Djimon Hounsou Has Been Cast as a 3,000-Year-Old Wizard in SHAZAM!

Shazam! has added a great new cast member! According to EWDjimon Hounsou was quietly cast in the role of the 3,000-year-old sorcerer who ends up giving young Billy Batson his powers in the story so that he can magically transform into a fully adult-size superhero.

In the comics, The Wizard is an ancient being and the last surviving member of a council of wizards who must find a champion to battle the evil Black Adam.

This Is Us actor Ron Cephas Jones was previously reported as getting this role, but due to scheduling conflicts, he wasn't able to do it. Hounsou is a talented actor and it's good to see him take on the role. He'll be great in the film!

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

Shazam! also stars Jack Dylan Grazer (IT) as Billy’s best friend and ultimate superhero enthusiast, Freddy, part of the foster family that includes Mary, played by Grace Fulton (Annabelle: Creation); Darla, played by Faithe Herman (This is Us); Eugene, played by Ian Chen (Fresh Off the Boat); and Pedro, played by Jovan Armand (TV’s Hawaii Five-O). Cooper Andrews of The Walking Dead and Marta Milans (Killer Women) play foster parents Victor and Rosa Vasquez.

Shazam! will be released on April 5, 2019.

Character Details Revealed For James Wan’s MORTAL KOMBAT Movie Reboot

I keep forgetting that James Wan is working on a Mortal Kombat film. Last we heard, Simon McQuoid was revealed to be directing the film and Greg Russo was working on the script. Now, we’re getting some more details about who we’ll get to see thanks to That Hashtag Show. Here’s a bit of story information:

A new character could be very welcome. Some of the returning characters are Kano, Sonya Blade, Raiden, and Mileena, with many more contained in the listing below.

Lead Male. 30s. A brand new character to the MK franchise. Cole is a struggling and widowed boxer who cares more about his young daughter than anything. He is incredibly determined and refuses to quit in the face of fantastical adversity.

Supporting Lead Male. 30s. The large, rugged Australian ex-special forces turned merc-for-hire. He is arrogant and impetuous but a tremendous fighter.

Supporting Lead Female. 30s. The beautiful, brainy blonde writer who chases the prophecy of Mortal Kombat. She recruits Cole and fights bravely and selflessly for a team she can only be a true part of once she earns a medallion in combat.

Male. 14. The immortal thunder God and protector of the Earth realm, who leads and trains the Earth team in the Underworld.

Female. 25-35. A drop dead gorgeous woman that is part of the Outworld side. She wears a sheer gown over thigh-high boots and a revealing one-piece, with a veil that covers her nose and mouth.

Male. 30-40. “Jax” is a strapping mercenary/military officer who loses both of his hands in an attack and then joins Sonya and Cole to fight the Outworld.

Male. 20-35. A fire throwing ninja warrior who is a talented Earth realm champion.

Male. 25-35. The mute warrior monk brother of Liu Kang, who yields an all powerful boomerang hat.

Male. No age specified. The great sorcerer of Outworld, whose presence is a storm cloud of dark energy. His ever-changing roulette of faces unfurls an evil smile.

Male. 25-35. An Oni devil mask over his face, his body is composed of twisted sinewy skin, a heavy spiked club replaces one arm.

Male. 25-35. An evil assassin of Outworld, he is outfitted in a black armored vest and trench coat. His entire head is covered by a scarred black respirator. His signature weapons are two razor-sharp hook swords.

Female. 25-35. A black-haired vampire of Outworld. Two massive leathery batwings protrude from her bare shoulders. Fresh blood drips from her fangs.

Male. 25-40. An armor-clad Outworld General with white glowing eyes. He drags a massive war hammer with him.

Male. Late 80’s. The overseer of the clock tower and the training grounds that house the Earth realm warriors, he is laughably old.

Female. 12. Cole’s scrappy, determined, and wise-beyond-her-years daughter.

Female. 60s. Cole’s understanding, discerning mother-in-law who houses Emily and is her primary guardian.

Female. 30-35. Cole’s judgmental sister-in-law, who believes Cole to be a selfish, bad father. She lives with Sophia and Emily.

You may have noticed that Scorpion and Sub Zero were not included in this list. I know I was shocked, but there’s a good chance they’re not looking for actors for these roles. I could see them going for martial arts specialists for these two characters and hopefully, any acting required won’t be dismal.

Are you excited for this reboot? Who do you hope gets the roles listed above? Is there anyone they didn’t mention that you want included?

HBO’s GAME OF THRONES Spinoff Series Will Start Shooting in Belfast in October

HBO is planning to start shooting the pilot for George R.R. Martin and Jane Goldman's Game of Thrones spinoff series in Belfast in October. Deadline is reporting that the series will shoot at The Paint Hall in Belfast’s Titanic Quarters, which is where Game of Thrones was shot along with Krypton and an upcoming Star Wars film being shot next year.

George R.R. Martin wants to call the fantasy drama The Long Night and the story is set thousands of years before the events of Game Of Thrones. The series is described as chronicling "the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know."

Martin previously talked about the project, explaining that none of the characters from Game of Thrones will appear in the show, and added:

"All of the successor shows we’ve been developing have been prequels, as I have mentioned before. This one really puts the PRE in prequel, since it is set not ninety years before GAME OF THRONES (like Dunk & Egg), or a few hundred years, but rather ten thousand years (well, assuming the oral histories of the First Men are accurate, but there are maesters at the Citadel who insist it has only been half that long). We’re very early in the process, of course, with the pilot order just in, so we don’t have a director yet, or a cast, or a location, or even a title. (My vote would be THE LONG NIGHT, which says it all, but I’d be surprised if that’s where we end up. More likely HBO will want to work the phrase “game of thrones” in there somewhere. We’ll know sooner or later)."

It seems like fans are pretty excited about this new series. It certainly has a fascinating concept and story to explore and I can't wait to see how it turns out! We'll know soon enough.

Last E3, Capcom finally announced the progress of Resident Evil 2 Remake with a new trailer and a gameplay preview. Soon after, a massive hype surrounded the franchise and fans have been posting and resurrecting anything related to Resident Evil like this video of the cast of RE2 dancing to Gangnam Style and cosplays of iconic characters.

Most recently, a Jill Valentine cosplay was re-posted again on a Resident Evil fan page on Facebook after it was initially released last December. The Russian cosplayer by the name of Narga was able to pull-off Jill's iconic look from Resident Evil 3 and was photographed by Kira

As a huge fan of Jill Valentine, who is also my all-time favorite character from the series, I was impressed with Narga's portrayal of the iconic heroine from the outfit to the hair to her fierce expression as she fends off zombies.

Another Wonderfully Fun Trailer For Disney’s CHRISTOPHER ROBIN

"It's Always a Sunny Day When Christopher Robin Comes To Play"

Disney has released a lovable brand new trailer for their upcoming live-action Winnie The Pooh film Christopher Robin and it's sure to brighten your day. The trailer features a good amount of new footage from the film of Ewan McGregor as Christopher Robin playing with his old friends again in Hundred Acre Wood.

This movie looks so freakin' charming and I'm sure fans of Winnie The Pooh will have a smile from ear to ear as they watch the movie. I know I will!

The story is set in the year 1949, and Christopher Robin is "an efficiency manager at a luggage company, tasked with finding the resources to prevent many of his workers from being laid off. That will mean missing the vacation he has planned with his wife, Evelyn (Hayley Atwell), and young daughter, Madeline (Bronte Carmichael). They’re heading to the Hundred Acre Wood while he’s stuck in London with work, when he gets a visit from his old friend Pooh. But he’s not the same person Pooh remembers."

Christopher Robin was directed by Marc Forster (World War Z) and it also stars Mark Gatiss as Keith Winslow, Robin’s boss. As far as the voices of the characters go, Jim Cummings plays Winnie the Pooh; Chris O’Dowd plays Tigger; Brad Garrett plays Eeyore; Toby Jones plays Owl; Nick Mohammed plays Piglet; Peter Capaldi plays Rabbit; and Sophie Okonedo plays Kanga.

The movie will be released in theaters on August 3rd.

Creepy New Trailer For Stephen King’s CASTLE ROCK Explores The Dark Mysteries of the Town

Hulu has released a creepy new trailer for their upcoming Stephen King and J.J. Abrams series Castle Rock and it's the best trailer that they've released for it so far! This one not only gives us new footage but also offers some intriguing new details on the story, which will revolve around Bill Skarsgard's character who mysteriously appears in Shawshank prison.

I'm super excited for this series and it's set to premiere at Comic-Con later this month. I'm really hoping that I can get into that screening! I love that the series will bring together all of King's classic stories and it's going to be a lot of fun seeing how much of Stephen King's work they are going to weave into this story. There are a few things in this trailer that King fans will notice including a call back to Cujo.

Castle Rock is a 10-episode psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse. It "combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock. As a series, Castle Rock aims to explore various themes and worlds, uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories."

The series is being written by Manhattan creator Sam Shaw and Dusty Thomason. It also has a great cast of actors that includes Scott Glenn (Daredevil), Andre Holland (Moonlight), Sissy Spacek (Carrie), Melanie Lynskey, Terry O-Quinn (Lost), Jane Levy (Evil Dead), and Bill Skarsgard (IT).

Hulu announced that the series will premiere on July 25th!

Thanos’ Finger Snap Also Wiped Out Animals, So a Bunch of Kids lost Their Pets!

When Thanos snapped his fingers at the end Avengers: Infinity War, wiping out half of the population of the entire universe, I never thought about the animals being affected. But, according to Kevin Feige, they totally were.

At the end of an interview with Birth.Movies.Death, Feige was asked to clarify if animals were affected by the snap and the Feige enthusiastically said:

Yes! Yes. All life.

That means there were some poor kids out there playing with their pet puppies and kittens when all of a sudden they faded away into ash right in front of their eyes. That's got to be a pretty traumatic experience for any kid.

Over the time since I've watched Infinity War, I couldn't help but also think about all the families that were affected by this event. The parents who lost their kids and the kids who lost their parents and siblings. The whole thing was already super depressing before I found out that the animals were also affected!

That Thanos wasn't messing around and he truly is an evil bastard. But, what if what he did actually worked and made the universe a better place?
