THE GOLDBERGS Season 6 Will Have a SIXTEEN CANDLES Episode!

For those of you fans of The Goldbergs who were hoping to one day see a Sixteen Candles-themed episode, it looks like you will see that happen in Season 6!

The Goldbergs is one of those shows that just brings me so much nostalgic joy and happiness. I can relate to it so well because it reminds me a lot of what it was like for me growing up.

I'm also a big fan of John Hughes' and it's awesome to see the series pay tribute to another one of his classic films. The show previously had Weird Science and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off themed episodes.

Sixteen Candles follows Samantha Baker (Molly Ringwald) as she has a terrible birthday experience when everyone forgets that it's her birthday. This will happen to Adam Goldberg in the episode. Actor Sean Giambrone talked about the episode with /Film saying:

"The situation that happens can be for either gender. It is a girl in the movie, but it can happen to the boy."

The thing is, can you imagine Beverly Goldberg ever forgetting one of her kids' birthdays? I can't, but apparently, it happens next season. Hayley Orrantia went on to say there are going to be a lot of details in the show:

"There’s so many little details throughout the show where they tie it in as Adam does. There’s definitely going to be the 16th birthday party that goes awry. I’m excited to have the audience see all those little things and the little details that people may have overlooked in the movie that we really touch on in the episode."

Sounds like this episode is going to be a lot of fun! I can't wait to see it! The Goldbergs returns September 26, 2018 on ABC.

Warner Bros. Has Reportedly Approached James Gunn About Directing a DC Film

warner-bros-has-reportedly-approached-james-gunn-about-directing-a-dc-film-social.jpg

Yesterday we learned that director James Gunn was negotiating his possible exit as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It's said his script will be used for the film and that there's a chance he could come back to direct a future Marvel movie in the event they officially don't bring him back to direct Vol. 3.

It's also being reported that Gunn has been approached by several top producers and executives in Hollywood to write and direct a number of big film projects that the studios are looking to develop. They are excited to work with Gunn! One studio executive said:

"Most people feel his comments were coming out of his brand of comedy [at the time he made them]. Having an inappropriate sense of humor shouldn’t be a crime."

One of the studios looking to hire Gunn is said to be Warner Bros. They would love to get him on board to direct one of their DC film properties! As of right now, though, Gunn is unable to entertain any offers until the "Disney matter is 100 percent resolved."

It will certainly be interesting to see how this all plays out and what is store for Gunn's future. But Marvel's loss could be DC's gain. Would you like to see Gunn direct a DC film? If so, which character or characters would you want to see him play with?

Simon Belmont And King K. Rool Confirmed For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Nintendo's King K. Rool reveal was as mind-boggling to Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong as it was to real-life viewers

Nintendo's King K. Rool reveal was as mind-boggling to Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong as it was to real-life viewers

In today’s Nintendo Direct, Super Smash Bros. fans were treated with a wealth of new information about the upcoming Smash title. Most notably, Nintendo announced the inclusion of a whopping five new characters to the series, including three “Echo Fighter” clones and two entirely new characters.

Thanks to a last-minute leak revealing the inclusion of Castlevania music the night before the direct, many Smash fans correctly predicted the announcement of the inclusion of vampire hunter Simon Belmont, the series’ main character. However, few could have foreseen that Simon’s descendant and a protagonist of several of his own Castlevania titles, Richter Belmont, would also be included as a clone of Simon.

Furthermore, the announcement of King K. Rool—replete with fake-outs and teases—will bring one of the most often-requested characters into the Smash arena. Donkey Kong’s nemesis, K. Rool is a giant, portly crocodile who looks to be a large, bulky character much like other villains such as Ganondorf, King Dedede, and Bowser.

Other Echo Fighters included in the announcement were Dark Samus, a Samus clone, and Chrom, a Fire Emblem character included as a clone of Roy. Additionally, the Nintendo Direct revealed a number of other tantalizing details, including the addition of a game mode in which players can slowly build up meter in order to activate weakened versions of their Final Smashes and the inclusion of a full 103 stages, including many returning stages from past titles such as Melee’s Final Destination and Brawl’s Hanenbow. Notably, popular indie character Shovel Knight will be included in Smash Ultimate as an assist trophy, exciting news that is bittersweet for fans who hoped that the character would become a full-fledged fighter in his own right.

With months to go before Smash Ultimate’s release, we’re sure to be treated to increasingly exciting reveals as the game nears completion. GameTyrant will continue to report on these details as they come to light, so stay tuned!

STAR WARS Animation Producer Dave Filoni Opens Up About The Pressure of Bringing THE CLONE WARS Back

Star Wars fans were super excited to hear that Star Wars: The Clone Wars was coming back for one more season to give the series a proper conclusion! It was the biggest surprise announcement to come out of Comic-Con this year.

As producer Dave Filoni and his team are developing the series, he opens up about the pressure of bringing the series back and continuing to craft the story. While talking to CB about that pressure, he said:

"With Clone Wars, I will say there is a bit of pressure because, obviously from [the reaction to the new season], the people loved it. I mean, they grew up with it. It was massive. So I do feel the pressure of wanting to make something amazing for them, and I challenge myself to not take the easy outs in the story and not do simple things."

The Clone Wars served as an introduction to the Star Wars franchise to a generation of young fans. It was also great for the rest of the long-time fans to have some stories told that take place between the events of Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. It focused on the adventure of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and the fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano. Filoni goes on to discuss the story and how they are working with material that they had written in the past. He also talks about how he has evolved as a storyteller:

"We're also working at certain points with some material that we had written in the past, and so I've gone back and looked at it because I'm a different storyteller, and I think a better storyteller now. And how do we improve things, you ask yourself. I mean, we do that every season, in all honesty, so, in the last season, Rebels should be significantly better than the first. And the same is true for Clone Wars. So now how do I take a show that we stopped making five years ago and make it better than it was? That's the challenge. We're not just recreating it. We are continuing it, and we have to make it better."

He goes on to say that as far as the direction of the story goes, he follows his gut instinct:

"I would say everything I do is always more gut. I mean, I like to think that, at heart, I'm still a fan despite having done this for a long time. And that you just hope when you tell a story that people like the story you're telling, as well."
That's all you can really gamble on because I can't make a story necessarily for somebody else, in a way. You know what I mean? I can't take a bunch of data and, 'Well, people are into this, let's do it.' I think some people are very gifted at that, but it doesn't seem to be something that I do. I have to believe in what I'm doing, and what I'm saying, and try to make the characters come to life that way."

I love that Filoni and his team are looking to up the ante and give us an incredible final season to The Clone Wars. I hope they can pull it off! I'm very excited to see where exactly they will take the story and evolve it.

The return of The Clone Wars will debut next year on Disney's streaming service.

Ridiculous New Trailer For SHARKNADO 6 Teases Dinosaurs, Costumed Heroes, and More

Get ready to roll your eyes at the latest teaser trailer for Syfy's The Last Sharknado: It's About Time. It looks like it's going to be the most absurd chapter in the franchise yet. It teases dinosaurs, costumed heroes, and futuristic worlds. It also features a good amount of ridiculous footage like sharks chasing after people on a surfboard... on land. This looks so stupid. I know that's the point, but still...

Our hero Fin (Ian Ziering) has battled sharks all over the globe, but in this last installment he will tackle the final shark-tier -- time travel. In the ending moments of SHARKNADO 5: GLOBAL SWARMING, Fin was seen wandering alone on Earth after it was destroyed. Now he must travel back in time to stop the Sharknado that started it all. Will Fin and the gang be able to set everything right and save the world once and for all? A production of The Asylum, THE LAST SHARKNADO: IT’S ABOUT TIME is directed by Anthony C. Ferrante, based on an original screenplay by Scotty Mullen.

The film will also star Tara Reid, Tori Spelling, Dean McDermott, La Toya Jackson, Dee Snider, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Alaska and Darrell Hammond.

The Last Sharknado: It's About Time will be released on August 19th.

Sony Pictures’ MORBIUS Movie will Feature Martine Bancroft as the Lead Female Character

sony-pictures-morbius-will-feature-martine-bancroft-as-the-lead-female-character-social.jpg

Some new information has surfaced in regards to Sony Pictures' upcoming Marvel film Morbius. According to That Hashtag Show, the lead female character in the story will be Martine Bancroft. This is Michael Morbius’ fiancee. She was first introduced in 1971’s The Amazing Spider-Man #102 and she has had a long, twisted history.

Though she was his fiancee, Bancroft also became one of Morbius’ first victims and became a vampire herself. She’s been dead and resurrected more than once and has some interesting connections to some characters that we think Sony might be able to use should the decide to go forward with additional Morbius‘ films.

Bancroft is such a big part of Morbius' life, it was expected that she would play a major wole in the film.

Jared Leto has been cast as Morbius a.k.a. Dr. Michael Morbius, "a scientist who suffered from a rare blood disease and attempted to cure himself to disastrous results. Instead of being cured, he became afflicted with a condition that was a form of vampirism — the thirst for blood, along with fangs and super strength — and fought Spider-Man. Over time, however, he became a slightly heroic figure in his own right and even headlined his own comic book titles."

The movie has been described as a horror action story that will follow Morbius who is disgusted by his own bloodlust, so he chooses to prey upon criminals he deems unworthy of life." So, it's like a vampire version of Dexter! This seems like it will be a great part for Leto to take on. It's not hard to imagine him as a vampire.

The film will be directed by Daniel Espinosa, the filmmaker who previously helmed Safe House and last year's sci-fi thriller Life. The script is being written by Lost in Space scribes Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.

Apparently It Was Ok To Murder Kids in Wheelchairs in This Alternate Scene From The 80s Family Film MAC AND ME

Do you remember that weird 1988 film Mac and Me that centered around a creepy alien creature known and MAC (Mysterious Alien Creature) that befriends a boy in a wheelchair named Eric Cruise? It's considered by many to be one of the worst movies from the 80s.

If you have seen the film I'm sure you remember the infamous scene where Eric falls off a cliff in his wheelchair. If you don't remember here's a reminder:

If you thought seeing a kid in a wheelchair role of the edge of a giant cliff was bad, just wait until you see this alternate clip from the film that has surfaced. It shows Eric being shot and killed! Remember... this was supposed to be a family-friendly film and in the Japanese cut of the film there is child murder!

Fantastic Fest film curator Peter Kuplowsky has shared this alternate clip on Twitter and it's pretty crazy! You can watch it below.

I had no idea that a scene like this ever existed until today! If you want to see how the original ending played out you can watch it below. It was probably smart that they cut the scene. I imagine the MPAA made them cut it for American audiences. Hell, the original ending was pretty damn dark! You can watch that below.

Luckily, Eric is saved by MAC and his family after his death in the theatrical version. Mac and Me celebrates its 30th anniversary next month.

Here Is The First Gameplay Trailer For RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2

Yesterday, Rockstar Games announced that the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 would be released today. True to their promise, you can now watch the latest gameplay footage for the upcoming game below.

The latest preview provides an in-depth look at the game’s world, how players would interact with the Van der Linde Gang, and so much more. As seen in the trailer, Red Dead Redemption 2 is set at a vast American landscape featuring mountainous regions and towns that are on the brink of modernization. Players will have the ability to switch locations seamlessly, and each area will have a variety of missions, quests, and activities for players to enjoy.

“In the late 1800,s America was evolving, on its way to becoming the most powerful country in the world,” as narrated in the trailer. “New immigrants arrived, thriving outposts became towns, and civilization was spreading into the huge wild, and lawless frontier. With Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games aims to create a living world that’s not simply open, but deeper, more interactive and detailed than ever, combining action, storytelling, and gameplay in new ways as you live, ride, and fight to survive as an outlaw in a notorious gang.”

In the game, players take the role of Arthur Morgan, who is part of the Van der Linde gang, who are being pursued across the country by Lawmen who are adamant in putting an end to the age of outlaws. Interaction with fellow gang members is essential in the game’s overall narrative and gameplay, which will include activities from missions, hunting, fishing, or even engaging in robbery.

Red Dead Redemption 2 also gives players the ability to interact with most of the characters in the game. Given that players play as an outlaw, they are given the option to become an upstanding citizen or become a notorious troublemaker. Players can also choose how their character interacts with animals in the game, especially horses who are essential in Red Dead Redemption 2’s gameplay.

After experiencing delays in the past, Take-Two Interactive said that the game’s release date wouldn’t change anymore, which means that everything is set to release on October 26 for the PS4 and Xbox One. A few days ago, Take-Two expressed their confidence in the game by saying that Red Dead Redemption 2 will undoubtedly “revolutionize” the gaming industry, and with the gameplay footage revealed so far, Take-Two and Rockstar Games might be on the right track.
