In Case You Missed It Here’s Another Fan-Made STAR WARS Anime Short Film is Awesome

Are you a Star Wars fan? Are you an anime fan? Chances are you’ll enjoy this short film made by Otaking77077 and it’s very well done. This is an older video but with that 80s style Star Wars anime that was released earlier this week, I thought I’d share this one again. There’s no dialogue in this, but the music is incredible and the animation reminded me of Robotech. Here’s his description of the film:

What if there was an Empire-focussed short Star Wars animation, drawn with the crazy detail and shading of classic 80s anime that’s all but vanished from Japan nowadays?
Well, I tried my best. Apologies in advance for not living up to Venus Wars standards.
Drawn and animated by yours truly over 4 years’ worth of weekends, with music by the living guitar solo Zak Rahman and sound design by up and coming audio technician Joseph Leyva. Fans of Lucasarts’ seminal 1994 TIE Fighter game may notice a few familiar sights and sounds. That “incoming missile” noise gives me horrible flashbacks to this day...

The Charlie’s Angels reboot has added Jonathan Tucker (Westworld) to the roster. Deadline does not reveal the role that Tucker will play though. He will join Elizabeth Banks, Luis Gerardo Mendez, Naomi Scott, Kristen Stewart, and Patrick Stewart.

Since the original films, The Townsend Agency has grown considerably and gone global, providing security and intelligence services to a wide variety of private clients with offices and highly-trained teams worldwide. This film focuses on one of those teams.

In addition to starring as a Bosley character beside Patrick Stewart, Banks will direct and produce the film. She has also worked with Jay Basu to write the latest draft of the script.

Charlie’s Angels is currently slated for release on September 27, 2019.

Skrillex And Hikaru Utada Team Up For KINGDOM HEARTS 3 Theme Song

Kingdom Hearts most iconic artist is making a comeback, and Hikaru Utada has brought Skrillex along for the ride for the new Kingdom Hearts 3 theme song! I’m not sure this song is better than the iconic “Simple and Clean,” but it is pretty damn good as far as video game theme songs go. Check it out below, let us know your thoughts on the song, and let us know if you’re still excited to play Kingdom Hearts 3 a decade later:

Former Michael Myers Reveals One Potential Problem With The 4K Restoration Of The Original HALLOWEEN

While the new Halloween prepares for its theater debut, the original classic just got rolled out in 4K. Being able to see the film in enhanced quality is exciting, although the original Shape actor Nick Castle told Bloody Disgusting the revamped film may ruin a great scene from the original cut:

I just talked to [director] John [Carpenter] about this and he said he and the cameraman did a viewing of this [restoration]. He was impressed with the sharpness. My question would be there is one scene that [director of photography] Dean [Cundey] had a great idea. Near the end, where Michael Myers is in the shadows, he actually dials up the light very, very slowly so that he starts to appear behind [actress] Jamie [Lee Curtis]. It’s right before he tries to either stab her or choke her. And I just wonder if that will be seen too early. That’s, I guess, my one concern, other than the fact that I’d love to see it in this format.

I haven’t seen the restoration yet, and I don’t have a 4K television. Anyone who does and has picked up the restoration should watch the scene, and then check it out on YouTube and see if there is a notable difference between that scene and the new version. Has anyone watched the original Halloween yet this year?

Wonderfully Done Short Film MICE Recreates LORD OF THE RINGS With Rats

I never thought I’d have a day where I said I saw a cool adaptation of Lord of the Rings with rats, but here we are. Not only is the adaptation pretty solid and creatively recreates some iconic scenes from the film, it also looks amazing!

In a dark subway tunnel, a group of mice find a gold ring-pull that seems to have a mysterious effect on one of them. Not so far from them, an owl and his enslaved rats are watching. The owl sends his rats to get hold of this strange object...

Kevin Tricks The Hotel Staff In HOME ALONE 2 With FULL METAL JACKET

Someone went and re-edited the hotel staff scene in Home Alone 2 with audio clips from Full Metal Jacket, and the scene is made exponentially better in this version. Of course, this version would never fly in a film for children, and the original scene is good enough. That’s mostly due to Tim Curry, who sells the scene equally as well in the video belowl. Damn, I really miss his acting days:

Sony Officially Backs Out Of The Handheld Gaming Market

The handheld gaming market has changed drastically over the years, and many companies have tried and failed to unseat Nintendo’s iron grip on the market. Sony has tried (and failed) since 2004 to make the PSP a thing, but with the immense popularity of the Nintendo Switch and smartphones capable of running PUBG and Fortnite, there’s not really a niche for the PSP to hang out in anymore.

Sony recognizes this, and has formally announced the PSP will cease production in 2019 and that a follow up isn’t in the works (via Nintendo Life):

In Japan, we will manufacture PlayStation Vita until 2019. From there, shipping will end…Currently, we do not have any plans regarding a new handheld device.

Sony is far from dead of course, and truth be told, they held onto this venture far longer than they should have. Are you sad to see the PSP go?

Bradley Cooper Explains How He Got Lady Gaga For A STAR IS BORN

A lot of people are saying Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s remake of A Star Is Born is fantastic, with a lot of the magic coming from the chemistry and performances of the two in the film. Cooper was recently on Conan and asked if he knew they’d connect like that when he first met her, and he admitted he did not. In fact, it wouldn’t be until the two met and bonded over leftover pasta that he knew he needed her to be in the film. Check out the full story below, and see the film in theaters October 5:
