DOOM ETERNAL On The Switch Will Probably Run At 30FPS


A couple of days ago at Quakecon 2018, developer Bethesda officially revealed a proper first look for Doom Eternal, the sequel to the 2016 reboot of the series. The game was first announced during the last E3, but this time, the developer has released a gameplay trailer, which is posted below (Doom starts at the one-hour eleven-minute mark). Although the game still has no release date, it is confirmed to for the PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. 

Speaking of the Nintendo Switch version, Eurogamer (via Nintendo Life), had the opportunity to talk to Doom Eternal’s executive producer Marty Stratton and creative director Hugo Martin, who both discussed how the game would be released on Nintendo’s hybrid console. 

Stratton assured players that the Switch version would be released alongside its counterparts on other platforms. Moreover, the developer made it clear that Doom Eternal would be optimized for the Switch, which they consider as a “first-class citizen,” meaning that this would be a proper game and not a port like its predecessor. 

“We’re actually working with Panic Button again, but before, we made the game, and then we brought it to Switch, and now we are making the game with Switch in mind. It’s nice to know the platforms we want to hit up front.”

Currently, Stratton revealed that they are targeting the Switch version to run at 30fps, with all other versions running at 60fps. Of course, performance-wise, it is understandable that the Switch would be slightly inferior compared to its counterparts on other platforms because that is the price players would have to pay for the convenience of being able to play anytime, anywhere. 

Doom Eternal has no release date as of now but is slated to release on the Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

CUPHEAD Reaches 3 Million Units Sold And Reveals Upcoming DLC

Cuphead, the critically acclaimed indie-game by Studio MDHR has achieved a new level of success. The developer was proud to announce that the game has now sold 3 million copies. 

Looking at Cuphead’s sales records, reaching triple platinum is impressive but not that surprising given that two weeks after its launch, the game was able to push out 1 million units. By the end of 2017, two months after its initial release Cuphead reached double platinum. 

In a blog post, the developer expressed their thanks to all the fans that supported the game from the beginning, “It’s hard for us to express just how appreciative we are to everyone who has played and enjoyed our niche little run & gun game with the wacky rubber-hose characters.”

StudioMDHR did not release the breakdown of Cuphead’s sales, which is currently exclusive for the Xbox One and PC. Moreover, the developer was also excited to announce the release of the trailer for Cuphead’s upcoming DLC called The Delicious Last Course.

Cuphead is available for the PC and Xbox One with a DLC slated to release sometime in 2019.

FALLOUT 76 Is Committed To Support Private Servers And Custom Mods

During QuakeCon 2018, Bethesda’s Todd Howard revealed that the upcoming game, Fallout 76, will include support for private servers allowing custom mods in the game. 

The developer expressed his understanding of the role mods play in making the experience more fun for players and wanted to make sure that Fallout 76 will feature support for it. 

“That is definitely something we are doing, we're committed to it. It's not just having a private server, it's being able to mod it." Howard said at QuakeCon. "Once our games come out, that's what our hardcore players play, and they're still playing Skyrim and Fallout 4 too... two of, still, the most popular games in the world, and a lot of people are playing mods. And that is something, given the online nature of it, is going to be very very complicated."

The developer also noted that introducing mods in an online game won’t be an easy one to implement, but assured players that Bethesda will do everything they can to support it. However, Howard was not able to go into details on how extensive mods would be, but it seems that players would need to be part of a private server to do so. 

A few days ago, Bethesda also announced that the upcoming B.E.T.A. for Fallout 76 would already include the full game, and any progress made within the test would be carried over to the launch version. However, the B.E.T.A. would not be available for everyone since Bethesda will be selecting players who have pre-ordered the game from participating retailers. 

Fallout 76 is scheduled to launch on November 14, 2018, for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. PCGamer reported that the PC version of the game would not be available via Steam but can be directly purchased from

A couple of days ago, Rockstar Games has released the first-ever gameplay footage of the upcoming game, Red Dead Redemption 2. Now, the developer revealed that the game is going to run in 4K on the PlayStation 4, confirming the assumption of most players. 

The announcement was revealed via the PlayStation Blog after Sony posted the six-minute gameplay footage of Red Dead Redemption 2. The video was captioned saying, “Captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 4 Pro, watch this introduction to Red Dead Redemption 2’s gameplay in 4K.”

Sony’s YouTube video of the gameplay trailer also showed the same caption. However, on Xbox’s YouTube channel, the caption was altered slightly saying, “Captured entirely from in-game footage, watch this introduction to Red Dead Redemption 2’s gameplay in 4K.”

The difference in the description from the YouTube channels of Sony and Microsoft would suggest that the video shown on all outlets were, in fact, the footage that was captured using the PlayStation 4 Pro running in 4K. In a statement to USgamer, Rockstar confirmed this to be true. 

However, even though the gameplay footage we’ve seen was captured on the PlayStation 4 Pro, the official Xbox website confirms that the Xbox One X will also be able to run the game in 4K since the upcoming title is “Xbox One X Enhanced.”

Red Dead Redemption 2 is slated to release on October 26 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. 


Don’t Panic! Nintendo Confirms That ‘Luigi Is Okay’

A few days ago, Nintendo released the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct that revealed new features that will be included, when the game hits the Nintendo Switch in December. However, the scene that got the most attention was during Simon Belmont’s teaser. The preview showed Luigi suffering a horrible death as his soul was sucked out of his body, which got people worried. 

It seems that everything is okay after all and Nintendo released a tweet saying that, “Luigi is okay.” 

Luigi’s horrific death took place in a preview from the latest Nintendo Direct. The footage showed Luigi heading to Dracula’s castle, where he came face to face with the grim reaper causing him to faint in fear. Almost immediately after the live broadcast, people began speculating on Luigi’s well-being, but the Nintendo UK VS Twitter account assured fans that Luigi is okay. 

This is not the first time that a Nintendo character got killed in a Nintendo Direct. During last year’s E3 live stream, Mario was pierced through the chest by Ridley, which revealed that he was a playable character. The preview ended with Mario’s hat left behind, which at the time, people thought symbolized the end of his career. Of course, we know today that Mario is alive and well, and unlike Luigi, Nintendo did not say anything about his status after the live stream.  

At least we can sleep easy knowing that Luigi is okay after all. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is scheduled to launch on December 7 this year for the Nintendo Switch. 


All Three PERSONA Dancing Games Are Headed To The West In December

Developer Atlus has announced that all three Persona Dancing titles, Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight, Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night are all coming to the west on December 4, 2018. 

Atlus initially planned localization in early 2019 and revealed that the games would be released before the holidays this year. Both Moonlight and Starlight will be available on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita as standalone releases. However, All Night will be included via a download code from the Persona Dancing: Endless Night Collection

The collection will include all three dancing games, together with a hardback art book that is priced at around $100. Pre-orders for the collection and the standalone games are now available via Atlus’ official store.

FORTNITE Finally Comes To Android But Will Be Exclusive To Samsung Phones First

Epic Games’ trendy battle royale game has been available on all gaming platforms, including iOS devices for mobile gamers. Now, Epic announced that the game is finally heading to Android devices today, but will be exclusive to Samsung devices for a few days. 

CNET revealed that Fortnite would be available to download on the following Samsung Galaxy phones such as the S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8 Plus, Note 8, S9, S9 Plus. Fortnite’s exclusivity on Samsung phones will last from August 9 to August 12, which is currently downloadable via the Samsung Game Launcher. Fortnite will come to all Android devices on August 12. 

It has been previously reported that Fortnite for Android devices will skip the Google Play Store and will be distributed directly by the developer. This move will let Epic Games make more money from the game, given that Google won’t be able to take a commission from the money earned through in-game transactions. Speaking to GameSpot, Epic revealed that the decision was to bypass the 30 percent “store tax” that is applied to purchases made on Google Play. 

“It’s a high cost in a world where game developers’ 70 percent must cover all the cost of developing, operating, and supporting their games,” Epic said. “And it’s disproportionate to the cost of the services these stores perform, such as payment processing, download bandwidth, and customer service.”

The recent release of Fortnite on Android makes the battle royale game available on all platforms including the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS devices. 


Do Armada Numbers Hold The Same Weight Now That The Streak Is Over?


If you’re at all a fan of competitive Super Smash Bros. Melee—and you don’t live under a rock—then you’ve likely heard about James “Swedish Delight” Liu’s historic victory of Adam “Armada” Lindgren at Evolution Championship Series 2018. Swedish’s 2-1 win over Armada marked the end of Armada’s mind-blowingly long streak of only losing to players ranked in the top six, which began after his loss to Amsah “Amsah” Augustuszoon at Pound 4 in January 2010.

Five months ago, I wrote up a guide informing readers about the best ways to find their lowest possible “Armada number”—that is, a popular metric of player skill based on the number of tournament wins a player has to chain together to get from themselves to Armada. Thanks to Swedish Delight’s efforts last weekend, members of the New York/New Jersey competitive scenes have just gained a massive boost in their Armada numbers, a boon even more powerful than similar Armada number-boosting upsets such as Matthew “MattDotZeb” Zaborowski’s infamous victory of William “Leffen” Hjelte at CFST: Warzone 2. Now, anyone who’s beaten Swedish Delight has an Armada number of two, and anyone who’s beaten someone who has a win over Swedish has an Armada number of three.

However, there’s an important question to be raised at this juncture: now that Armada no longer boasts a spotless record over players outside the top six, does the concept of Armada numbers hold as much weight as it did before? Indeed, one could argue that the prestige of an Armada number was linked just as close to one’s ability to trace their wins to the top six as it was to their ability to chain wins to Armada himself.

Don't get me wrong—I know that Armada numbers inherently are a frivolous concept, more of a fun fact for Melee nerds to dither about than a real measure of skill. But perhaps the concept should be retired altogether now that Armada’s streak has been broken for good. Here Is The First Gameplay Trailer For RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2


Yesterday, Rockstar Games announced that the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 would be released today. True to their promise, you can now watch the latest gameplay footage for the upcoming game below. 

The latest preview provides an in-depth look at the game’s world, how players would interact with the Van der Linde Gang, and so much more. As seen in the trailer, Red Dead Redemption 2 is set at a vast American landscape featuring mountainous regions and towns that are on the brink of modernization. Players will have the ability to switch locations seamlessly, and each area will have a variety of missions, quests, and activities for players to enjoy. 

“In the late 1800,s America was evolving, on its way to becoming the most powerful country in the world,” as narrated in the trailer. “New immigrants arrived, thriving outposts became towns, and civilization was spreading into the huge wild, and lawless frontier. With Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games aims to create a living world that’s not simply open, but deeper, more interactive and detailed than ever, combining action, storytelling, and gameplay in new ways as you live, ride, and fight to survive as an outlaw in a notorious gang.”

In the game, players take the role of Arthur Morgan, who is part of the Van der Linde gang, who are being pursued across the country by Lawmen who are adamant in putting an end to the age of outlaws. Interaction with fellow gang members is essential in the game’s overall narrative and gameplay, which will include activities from missions, hunting, fishing, or even engaging in robbery. 

Red Dead Redemption 2 also gives players the ability to interact with most of the characters in the game. Given that players play as an outlaw, they are given the option to become an upstanding citizen or become a notorious troublemaker. Players can also choose how their character interacts with animals in the game, especially horses who are essential in Red Dead Redemption 2’s gameplay. 

After experiencing delays in the past, Take-Two Interactive said that the game’s release date wouldn’t change anymore, which means that everything is set to release on October 26 for the PS4 and Xbox One. A few days ago, Take-Two expressed their confidence in the game by saying that Red Dead Redemption 2 will undoubtedly “revolutionize” the gaming industry, and with the gameplay footage revealed so far, Take-Two and Rockstar Games might be on the right track.

Players who are not so keen with tips and objective markers will be happy to know that in-game guidance in Shadow of the Tomb Raider is optional and can be toggled off. The game’s developers released details on Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s difficulty and accessibility options. 

In the game, the difficulty settings are split into three categories—combat, exploration, and puzzles, together with easy, medium, and hard levels for each category. Players have the freedom to tweak those settings at any point in the game, making the experience highly customizable depending on the player’s preference. Of course, players who are looking for a challenge can play the game in “Deadly Obsession: difficulty. 

The exploration difficulty focuses on guiding players from falling on challenging climbs, making base camps pre-lit for Lara to quickly identify, and remove those white markers that are usually found in the environment. The puzzle difficulty, on the other hand, allows players to add or remove visual cues that make objects glow, indicating key items that are relevant to solving puzzles.
