Fun Trailer For the Action-Packed Korean Superhero Comedy PSYCHOKINESIS

Director Yeon Sang-ho is back this year with a new film, Psychokinesis. His last film, Train to Busan, was well received and is even said to be getting a Hollywood remake. Psychokinesis follows a man (played by Ryu Seung-ryong) who one day discovers he has superpowers and he wants to use them to help his daughter. It is supposed to be a black comedy film, and looks like it’ll be a fun one to watch. Check out the poster and trailer below and let us know if you want to see it. It is slated for release in Korea on January 31, with no date for the US yet.

New Photo for MARY POPPINS RETURNS Features Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda

We’re getting closer to the release of Mary Poppins Returns, which means Disney’s upping their advertising game. Disney released a new photo from the upcoming movie and it shows us Emily Blunt as Mary and Lin-Manuel Miranda as Jack, a street lamplighter. It appears as though they’re about to run off with the children, supposedly to have a very Mary Poppins type of adventure that I’m sure she’ll forget about when putting the kids to sleep that evening.

Here’s the synopsis for those not sure what the story is set to be:

The film is set in 1930s depression-era London (the time period of the original novels) and is drawn from the wealth of material in PL Travers’ additional seven books. In the story, Michael (Whishaw) and Jane (Mortimer) are now grown up, with Michael, his three children and their housekeeper, Ellen (Walters), living on Cherry Tree Lane. After Michael suffers a personal loss, the enigmatic nanny Mary Poppins (Blunt) re-enters the lives of the Banks family, and, along with the optimistic street lamplighter Jack (Miranda), uses her unique magical skills to help the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives. Mary Poppins also introduces the children to a new assortment of colorful and whimsical characters, including her eccentric cousin, Topsy (Streep).

I think this movie will be interesting. Blunt is no Julie Andrews, but maybe she won’t be too bad. I’m really excited to see what role Dick Van Dyke will play in it though. What are your thoughts on this sequel coming out 54 years later?

Mary Poppins Returns is slated for release December 25, 2018.

Listen to Music From STAR WARS Played by a Pencil Writing Out Math Equations

The Internet. It’s both a horrible place and a wonderful place depending on where you go. We’re able to learn awesome things such as how to fix your plumbing problems by yourself, or who will be in the new movie you’re looking forward to, or what strange objects people can use to play music from Star Wars. We recently shared a video of the "Star Wars Theme" being played on calculators and we may be able to one-up it now. Dani Ochoa has “spent way too much time figuring this out” and has performed both the “Cantina Theme” and “The Imperial March” with a pencil by writing math equations. What’s your favorite unconventional instrument for Star Wars music?

The Script For The ENCHANTED Sequel DISENCHANTED Has Been Completed

All the way back in 2010, there were talks of Disney making a sequel to the 2007 film Enchanted. Well, according to /Film, the script is finished. The sequel, named Disenchanted, looks to be directed by Adam Shankman who was recently on the YouTube Red series, Step Up: High Water. When asked about the status of Disenchanted, Shankman told /Film:

We are handing in a script in a couple weeks that I’m super happy with. Then gotta get the music written.

The fundamental story has changed a little bit, but not from the base story of it. It’s about Giselle 10 years later going, ‘What is happily ever after?’

There’s a lot more songs this time than there were in the original, at least in the planning phase right now.

As for the animation, it’s probably about the same amount.

I thought the first movie was fun and cute, so I’m interested to see what this sequel will be like. Sounds like reality might be hitting Giselle a little hard after all these years. How much will it affect her bubbly personality? Did she and Robert have a kid? Sounds like there will be about the same amount of animation, but at the same time, I can’t imagine a sequel without Idina Menzel and James Marsden. Do they come back to New York? Why? Are you excited about this sequel? There’s no release date for the movie yet, but I would imagine either a very late 2018 or sometime in 2019 if this script gets greenlit.

Jason Momoa Wields a Flaming Axe in Trailer For BRAVEN

Before you go see him this December as Aquaman, consider getting your Jason Momoa fix in a film called Braven. Braven is an action thriller featuring Momoa, Stephen Lang, and Jill Wagner. Here’s a synopsis in case you haven't heard of this film:

When Joe (Momoa) and his father (Stephen Lang) arrive at their remote hunting cabin, they’re hoping for a quiet weekend. What they find is a stash of heroin, hidden in the cabin by drug traffickers. When the criminals suddenly descend upon the cabin, Joe and his father must make a kill-or-be-killed stand for survival.

This movie looks intense. We see Momoa throw two axes (one of which is on fire), shoot an arrow, use heated fire prongs, and more to defend this cabin. That’s just what is in the trailer! Imagine what more is potentially in the movie. If I had to guess, based on the trailer I would say Lang will die, but his daughter survives (so help me if she doesn't!). If you want an intense movie starring Khal Drogo and lots of death as he defends his family, this may be a good choice. Braven will be directed by Lin Oeding and was written by Michael Nilon and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett. What’s your favorite way Momoa could/will kill someone in this movie?

Braven is coming to theaters February 2, 2018.

Hayley Atwell Shares Ideas For AGENT CARTER Season 3

Hayley Atwell’s portrayal of Agent Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger was amazing. She was an excellent choice for the role, and she’s reprised that role in other MCU movies, Avengers: Secret Wars, and a spin-off show called Agent Carter. Agent Carter followed Peggy in her adventures after the events of Captain America. Fans loved the show, but it was canceled after only two seasons. Like many other shows, fans keep trying to bring it back, but so far nothing has come of it. However, while she was at ACE Comic Con recently, she was asked about what Peggy would be doing after the show ended. Here’s her response:

I’d be curious to know what the fans for her [Peggy Carter]. Some people have said they want to see her founding S.H.I.E.L.D. You have that aspect of it, she’s able to let go in some ways — of Cap — and move on to Sousa. She’s a great cause and she takes action, so there’s so many things going on socially from the 50s to when she passes, that I think she’d have loved to be a part of. There are so many things so could have been a part of, and probably did do. It could probably fill another season, I’m sure. I hope.

I think Peggy would’ve been at the forefront of a lot of the changes that took place during her time. She seems like the kind of person who would not have just sat back and done nothing. What do you think should have happened in a third season of Agent Carter?

Chris Evans Talks About Captain America’s Beard

infinity_war_poster.jpg

One of the things most noticed about the promotional posters and the trailer for Avengers: Infinity War is that Steve Rogers has a beard. According to THR, it was mentioned 20,474 times in its first 24 hours of the trailer's release. I’m sure by now that number is a lot higher. Well, Chris Evans was kind enough to sit down and talk to Thirst Aid Kit (the conversation with Evans starts around the 28-minute mark) about the beard. They asked him about his thoughts about the beard in general, his reaction to fans talking about the beard, and how long it takes to grow it. Here’s his response:

Well that’s good. That’s good, because I like it too. I mean, I usually live my life with a beard. I’m not a huge fan of shaving, and it just provides a little bit of anonymity at times. I was really excited that the Russos and Marvel were willing to kinda give that look a shot. I think it’s cool! I think it kind of changes things up. We’ve seen Cap the same way so many times. He’s such a throwback, he’s such a classic. It kind of gives him a little bit of a modern vibe.

It actually grows pretty quick, luckily. I think I can get a pretty full beard in maybe a month, maybe three to four weeks.

I think the beard looks great and given the end of Captain America: Civil War, I think it’s fitting. He basically becomes an outcast at the end of the movie and seems to go into hiding. Many fans are speculating about deeper meanings to the beard, but I don’t think there’s much to it. Do you have a theory about why he has a beard? Do you like his new facial hair?

MAN AT ARMS Lets You Ask a Blacksmith

Man At Arms: Reforged is a show on AWE Me’s YouTube channel where a group of blacksmiths forges weapons from anime, TV, movies, and games. I love watching this show! It’s relaxing in a way, and you can learn a little while they make Ned Stark’s Ice or Future Trunks’ sword. Sadly, they haven’t released any new forging videos in a while, but they have released two videos now in a series, “Ask a Blacksmith.” In this series, Matt sits down with one of the other smiths (Kerry and Ilya so far) and asks them questions from social media. They answer questions about getting into blacksmithing, interests outside the shop, as well as what kind of music they like. I think it’s interesting to learn more about these guys and I am looking forward to more great content from them. Hopefully, we’ll get a new build soon. Also, it sounds like you can still ask them questions with on Twitter by using #ASKABLACKSMITH. What questions do you have for them?

Tyrannosaurus Rex Conducts Colorado Symphony for Jurassic Park Theme

It’s no secret that I love John Williams. He’s incredibly talented, and whenever he gets involved in a project we get so freaking excited. Whether it’s Star Wars, Jaws, or Jurassic Park, his music is legendary. Earlier this year the Colorado Symphony performed the iconic theme from Jurassic Park and what better conductor could there be than a T-Rex? A person donned one of those iconic T-Rex suits that everyone on the Internet seems to have and led the orchestra in a fantastic rendition of the theme song. I don’t know how the orchestra didn’t bust up laughing while performing this beautiful piece. Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be a full clip of the instance, but I hope you enjoy this wonderful video. Who’s your favorite conductor?
