It’s been a long time since I’ve played Fruit Ninja on my phone. Do people still even play it anymore? That doesn’t matter to YouTube user ScottDW, who recently released a live-action Fruit Ninja short film called Fruit Ninja in Real Life: Part II. Yes, there was a Part I that he made in 2012. In case you haven’t seen that first one yet, I included it below for you to watch. If you like watching ninjas slicing up flying fruit, then you’ll enjoy these videos!

LEGO-Style Braille Bricks Help Blind Children Learn To Read

I love coming across stuff like this: geeky things we love transformed into things that help make the world a better place. The Dorina Nowill Foundation For The Blind has teamed up with the Lew’Lara/TBWA agency to create Braille Bricks that look like LEGO blocks. They were created to help the visually-impaired learn to read and also have fun doing it at the same time. The bricks can also be used to help other kids learn Braille as well and foster more inclusion and play for everyone.

As of right now, there are 300 sets that have been made for the students of the Dorina Nowill Foundation. It was explained that these designs are distributed under Creative Commons Attribution-Share A like 4.0 International license, which means that it is free to share or adapt for any purpose.

It would be awesome to see LEGO jump on board and take this concept to the next level.

LOCKE & KEY Is Going Back Into TV Development with Creator Joe Hill

Joe Hill’s Locke & Key has had a rough time trying to get adapted into both a TV series and a film franchise. Back in 2010 there was an attempt to get a Locke & Key series off the ground. Fox even produced a series pilot that premiered at Comic-Con in 2011, but it never got a series order. Then in 2014, a feature film trilogy was in development at Universal Pictures with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Nothing happened with that either. Now there’s another attempt to develop a series and this time it’s through IDW Entertainment. Hill has come on board to write the pilot and be an executive producer of the series. When talking about the project, Hill said:

“I love this story. The seven years I spent working on Locke & Key was the happiest creative experience of my life and there still isn’t a day when I don’t think about those characters and miss visiting with them. The six books of the series are very like six seasons of a cable TV series and so it feels only natural to bring that world to the little screen and to see if we can’t scare the pants off viewers everywhere.”

Locke & Key tells the story of Nina Locke and her three children, Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode, who survive an unspeakable horror and attempt to rebuild their lives at Keyhouse, their family home in Lovecraft, Massachusetts. It is a mysterious New England mansion, with fantastic and transformative keys hidden inside its walls that are also being sought by a hate-filled and relentless creature with ties to the Locke family’s past who will stop at nothing to accomplish his sinister goals.

This is a great comic series, and hopefully, this time around something actually happens with it. It’s good to know that Hill and the publisher haven’t given up on trying to make this series happen.

This Marvel Stark Industries Messenger Backpack is the latest development in mobile computing. With a light-up Arc Reactor on the strap, it's just showy enough to get other people's attention (and envy). Mostly, it's practical, with an organizer under the messenger-bag-style flap and a massive 15" wide x 10" tall x 1 1/4" gusset laptop/tablet pouch inside. And if your device doesn't fit in there?
