Liam Neeson’s Snowplow Action Thriller HARD POWDER Has a Release Date

Liam Neeson is making another revenge action thriller called Hard Powder. In this one, the actor plays a badass snowplow operator in Colorado whose life is turned upside down when his son is murdered by the powerful local drug kingpin. So, Neeson sets out on a vengeful crusade and in the process sparks a turf war between a Viking gangster and a Native American mafia boss.

Ya gotta love the action films that Neeson takes on. Summit Entertainment has announced that Hard Powder (I love that title, by the way) will be released on February 8th, 2019 and the movie also stars Emmy Rossum (Shameless), and Laura Dern (Wild). They also released an official synopsis:

Hard Powder follows Nels Coxman (Neeson), a local snowplow operator recently named Citizen of the Year of his small Colorado ski town for keeping the roads open through the winter. Nels’ quiet life with his wife (Dern) abruptly spins out of control when their son is unjustly murdered by a local drug cartel. Taking the law into his own hands with only the tools of an outdoorsman and snowplow driver, Nels sets out to find those responsible but inadvertently ignites a gang war that threatens to engulf the town — unless he ends it first.

The film is based on the 2014 Norwegian film In Order of Disappearance and it was directed by Hans Petter Moland, the Norwegian filmmaker who also directed the original film.

Are you looking forward to seeing Liam Neeson kick ass as a snowplow driver!?

The BOURNE Franchise Spinoff Series TREADSTONE Picked Up By USA Network

A few months ago it was reported that Heroes creator Tim Kring was developing a Bourne spinoff series called Treadstone. Now it's being reported that USA Network has officially given it a straight to-series order.

Treadstone explores the origin story and present-day actions of a CIA black ops program known as Operation Treadstone — a covert program that uses behavior-modification protocol to turn recruits into nearly superhuman assassins. The first season follows sleeper agents across the globe as they’re mysteriously “awakened” to resume their deadly missions.

There was originally supposed to be a pilot episode made before they ordered the series, but apparently, the network likes the direction the project is going so much, they just decided to skip that phase and give it a full season order. It probably didn't hurt that there's an international distribution deal being negotiated with Amazon as well.

According to Deadline, Amazon Studios president Jennifer Salke was "instrumental in starting the conversations on Treadstone as she had known the project since its inception and was in on the original pitch in her previous role as president of NBC Entertainment."

I'm a fan of the Bourne franchise and I really think a series like this could work. I'm interested in seeing how exactly Kring brings this Treadstone show to life.

R.L. Stine’s Monsters Attack Again in New Trailer For GOOSEBUMPS 2: HAUNTED HALLOWEEN

R.L. Stine's monsters are unleashed again in this latest trailer for Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween and their goal is to make Halloween last forever! Honestly though, that doesn't sound like a bad idea and I'm not sure why anyone would want to stop them from making it happen. But I guess it's just too much for the three young teens who embark on a mission to put a stop to all the fun that the monsters are having. I'd actually enjoy living in a world where Halloween comes to life! I'd even have fun playing with the killer gummy bears!

The film stars Ken Jeong (Crazy Rich Asians), Wendi Mclendon-Covey (Bridesmaids), Chris Parnell (Hot RodMadison Iseman, Ben O’Brien, Caleel Harris, Jeremy Ray Taylor (IT), and Jack Black as the voice of Slappy. Co-stars Dylan Minnette (13 Reasons Why), Ryan Lee (Super 8) and Odeya Rush (The Giver) from the first movie are expected to return.

The sequel was directed by Ari Sandel from a script by screenwriter Darren Lemke(Turbo). Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween will hit theaters on October 12th.

Bruce Campbell Isn’t Done With Ash Williams Yet! He’ll Be Back For an EVIL DEAD Video Game!

After Starz ended up canceling Ash vs. Evil Dead, Bruce Campbell announced that he would be retiring from the character. It was a sad time for horror fans, but... it looks like he's coming back to reprise the role of Ash one more time!

Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that there is a new Evil Dead video game in development and Campbell will be providing the voice of Ash! While speaking to Campbell in an interview, he said:

"I have previous obligations I have to fulfill. They are doing a video game. A whole immersive kind of dealio. I’ll be Ash for that, because I wouldn’t want someone else’s voice hamming it up."

He wouldn't go into any details on the game, but maybe the word "immersive" means that it could have something to do with VR. That would be cool! Over the years, Campbell has provided the voice for Ash for multiple Evil Dead video games, including Evil Dead: Hail to the King, Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick and Evil Dead: Regeneration.

I'll be looking forward to seeing how this new game turns out and I think it's great that Campbell came back to reprise his role for it!

GEAR.CLUB UNLIMITED 2 Is Announced For The Nintendo Switch

It was just last year when publisher Microïds and developer Eden Games, released Gear.Club Unlimited for the Nintendo Switch. Now, the developer announced that the sequel, Gear.Club Unlimited 2 is in the works and will be once again exclusive to the Nintendo Switch.

“In Gear.Club Unlimited 2, players will race along more than 1800 miles of roads at the wheel of the most beautiful cars made by top manufacturers,” Microïds stated in a press release. “The frantic races will take them across varied environments, such as snowy mountains, wooded valleys, desert roads and heavenly coasts, as part of championships, missions, and challenges.”

The CEO of Eden Games, David Nadal, also explained how the first Gear.Club Unlimited gave them the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the Nintendo Switch. Taking feedback from players of the game, they hope that Gear.Club Unlimited 2 will “bring them an even richer racing game, which still bears Eden Games’ signature!”

Gear.Club Unlimited 2 is scheduled to release both in digital and physical format, at the end of this year and will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch.

STAR WARS Production Designer Confirms a Spin-Off Film Set on Tatooine Was in Development

There's no doubt that Lucasfilm is developing several Star Wars film projects at the moment that have yet to be officially announced. A couple of months ago it was reported that they were developing at least nine Star Wars movies.

Those movies definitely include Rian Johnson's trilogy, as well at the film being developed by Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Then there's obviously Episode IX, but anything beyond those, including the Boba Fett and the Obi-Wan Kenobi films, has yet to be seen.

There were also reports of a spin-off film set on the planet Tatooine that revolved around Mos Eisley, the spaceport Luke Skywalker goes into in the original film. It turns out that film was actually in development and it was confirmed by production designer Neil Lamont, who told CinemaBlend:

"We were just starting our work on another Star Wars spin-off and yeah. We were actually just making our mark on Tatooine — which would have been interesting and some other new galaxies. So hopefully, if that comes back, we’ll get the chance to be able to do that further."

That production was obviously put on hold for the time being and there's no guarantee that Lucasfilm will move forward with it in the future. I also just want to clarify that this would have been a completely different project than the Obi-Wan film.

One day Lucasfilm will have a solid plan in place for the Star Wars franchise, and when they do, I'm sure they'll announce the films that they have coming. I'm excited to see what the future of Star Wars will be and as fun as it is to talk about rumors and discuss the things we'd like to see, hopefully we get some concrete news soon from Lucasfilm.

Paul Walker’s Family Wants To Bring His FAST & FURIOUS Character Back To The Franchise

It's been five years since Paul Walker passed away. I thought the Fast and Furious franchise did a wonderful job giving the actor and character the perfect send-off in Furious 7. They were able to pull that off with the help of his brothers Caleb and Cody and now those brothers would like to see Paul's character return to the franchise. That seems like it would be tricky to pull off, but they are opened to trying to find a way to make it happen.

Personally, I don't think that needs to happen. I love Paul and his character in the franchise, but the franchise closed the book on the character the best way that they could and trying to bring him back at this point seems like a bad idea. While talking to the AP, Caleb said:

"I just hope we get to — I don’t know — have a little cameo and bring Paul back to save the day and I get to help create that again. That’s my dream and I hope we get to do that in one of the future movies."

Cody Walker added:

"I think there could potentially be a way to do it. But it would take a lot of thought and it’d have to be tasteful. It would have to be tasteful. He was the real deal, the real car guy. And in his absence, I — you know — I think it’s lost its way in a big way."

I totally understand why the Walker brothers would want to find a way to bring Paul back to the franchise. But, for the fans like myself... what they pulled off with Furious 7 was the perfect way to say goodbye.

But, I guess if the studio wanted to bring him back, they could pull it off with CGI technology, which has improved since Furious 7. When addressing that final CGI shot of Paul Walker's face in the film, Caleb had this to say:

"It’s kind of creepy sometimes when you’re like, ‘Oh, that’s me.’ It doesn’t feel right."

What do you all think about the thought of bringing Paul Walker's character back to the Fast and Furious franchise in some way?

New Trailer for MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM NT Shows Off Some More Cool Footage

We all need a little more mecha in our lives so here's a brand new teaser trailer for you to watch for Mobile Suit Gundam NT (Narrative) from Sunrise showing off some more cool footage from the upcoming film. This is a sequel to Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn and is set in the same Universal Century (U.C.) timeline.

The 30-second new teaser announces its theatrical release in 90 theaters across Japan on November 30, 2018, and it also highlights the characters and some new mecha suits. Here's the synopsis:

U.C. 0097, one year after the opening of "Laplace's Box." Despite the revelation of the Universal Century Charter that acknowledges the existence and rights of Newtypes, the framework of the world has not been greatly altered.
The conflict later dubbed the "Laplace Incident" is thought to have ended with the downfall of the Neo Zeon remnants known as the Sleeves. In its final battle, two full psycho-frame mobile suits displayed power beyond human understanding. The white unicorn and the black lion were sealed away to remove this danger from people's consciousness, and they should now be completely forgotten.
However, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03, which disappeared two years earlier, is now about to show itself in the Earth Sphere once more. A golden phoenix... named Phenex.

Mobile Suit Gundam NT was directed by Shunichi Yoshizawa (Gundam Reconguista in GMobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt episode director) and this is his feature film directorial debut, based on a screenplay by Unicorn's original novel writer Harutoshi Fukui.
